After the breakfast rush, Synovia heads to Mayor Devron's office.
The Mayor is in the town hall at this time of day. She's talking to a small garrison of concerned Sandpoint women about setting up a town militia. She looks like she could use a drink.
Synovia approaches the group and clears her throat to get the Mayors attention. When the Mayor looks her direction, Syn says "Good Morning Mayor Devron, ladies I hope I'm not interrupting."
"Synovia!" Mayor Deverin exclaims almost too enthusiastically. "You don't have to stand on ceremony for my sake," she moves over and hugs Synovia warmly and whispers "Call me Kendra and please tell me it's urgent! I'd rather fight a real harpy than this flock of village ones!"
Synovia stifles a giggle, hugs Kendra then turns to the ladies, "Ladies, I'm sorry to interrupt, but I need to steal the Mayor from you.I know you understand."
The women looks a little miffed and the leader comments "We'll return tomorrow, Mayor Deverin. We still have a list of things we'd like to see changed regarding safety of the community, you understand." Mayor Deverin smiles gracious and waves them off as she backs away towards her office, arm in arm with Synovia. "Yes, Mrs. Bakershome. I understand completely and look forward to your long list of very viable improvements." The women begin filing away, chattering as they do so. The mayor waves until they are almost to the door before pulling Synovia inside, shutting the double doors to her office and collapsing against them as if to bar the door from a stampede. "DESNA'S WINGS!" she exclaims. "If Mrs. Bakershome doesn't drive me to the darkside of Nethys's own insanity it will be a divine miracle!" She takes a deep breath and practically stumbles to the bar and pours herself a drink. "Do you want something, sug? I've got the good stuff on tap today."
Syn shakes her head. "We could always put her and her gaggle on the front line of defense and they could complain the enemy to death. I do come however to discuss the idea of a militia. With the idea of more threats to come, It might be prudent. At least until Sheriff Hemlock returns"
Sighing, Kendra takes a sip of the dark liquor. "Well, ...we're not a large town but I suppose we can try something. With the Women's League talking it over it might not be a total surprise but..." she sigh again and sets the tumbler down. "You know these small town folk, as well as I do. They'll find crimes to report - petty things to make themselves feel important." She points to the door. "Can you imagine Imogene Bakershome's poor husband berated into tell me about how Sheylia is growing nightshade in her background. Of course she's growing it! Everyone knows but no one's turned up dead! I don't know how I'm going to get a militia not to distract from ...whatever is happening under the Glasswoks..."
Synovia thinks for a moment, then smiles. "How about two different groups? The Militia, which would handle anything requiring an armed response or for important issues that could report directly to you of Hemlocks second in command, and a community watch that the women's league could handle, giving them a feeling of usefulness. They could report to Ameiko, she would not take any pettiness, and she could then pass anything important to the Militia."

Kendra doesn't move as she stares into nothing. Slowly she picks up the tumbler, deep in thought and begins pacing. "Maybe..." she paces measured steps around the office with practice, or experienced grace, occasionally muttering "If I...." "but..." "...maybe..." until she stops next to Synovia. "It'll take me a day to two to get it sorted but I think it's a damn fine idea, girl!"
"Let me know how I can help. I believe my friends and I will return to the glass works and make sure it's clear. I will check in when we return. Take care of yourself and try not to do everything by yourself. Delegate Kendra, I know Ameiko will help if she can." She starts to leave, then stops as if just remembering something. "Oh, by the way, who would I speak to about buying the fine horse that I borrowed the other day?"

"Go by the Goblin Squash Stables (#38 on the map). Daviren Hosk will probably sell her to you but..."she smirks. "If you value Bobole's life, keep him out of the Hosk's sight."
"Thanks, hope your day gets better." says Syn as she heads toward the stables.
