LFG New player seeking D&D 3.5e

Hi. I've been on the lookout for a campaign to try jumping into, and I figured asking around here wouldn't hurt. I'm looking for a 3.5e D&D campaign - it's the only edition I have the handbook for and pdf's just aren't as easy to navigate as a legit book. I've never played before so I would need help from someone willing and nice enough to walk me through character creation, though I think the actual in-game content might be easier for me to pick up on. Time-wise, nights would typically work best, any day of the week, though I'm so eager to get into a group right now that I'm willing to consider anything. I don't have mic or video available to me via computer, but if one or both can be accessed through skype (I've got the mobile app) then I'm good. I'm most interested in text-based, but that seems to be rare so I'm not making any stipulations for that. I don't know if I've forgotten to mention anything, but I'll be answering everything added here. Thanks!

Hey there Samcat, I actually have a Self-created Pathfinder campaign that will be running on Saturdays from 6pm - 12am EST. The campaign will involve a lot of in-combat and out of combat strategy. You said you were looking for a 3.5e D&D campaign, but if you are wanting to try out Pathfinder, I have the PDF's that I could send to you. We also use skype to communicate during games, and we have a lot of fun doing so. You could play whatever class and race combo that you are wanting to play.
