I am looking for someone that would like to play DC Adventures.

I haven't played a pen and paper game for a long time but I really love to do it. I used to play in High School, we would make up random D20 games and play them. One we played was based on Chrono Trigger another was based in some weird Sci-Fi Tragedy. My favorite was a grizzled crime noir game. I have always been interested in playing a Superhero game and DC Adventures has caught my eye. Does anyone in here play that? Or at least the game engine that it uses?
I tried running a dc adventures game in RL. but the players and I were so confused on how the system worked so we quit. I love the idea, but just can't figure out the darn book.
I looked it up and I have the hero's handbook. It seems easy enough. I might run one if I can learn enough.
Topic; ME! *reads first post* I just had the chance tonight to flip through a hardback copy of DC Adventures. I am convinced that the three products are all the same rule set, with various degrees of licensed characters in them. First there is DC Adventures, the top of the line hard back with DC characters. Second there is Mutants and Masterminds with knock-offs and a more marvel concept friendly pre generated universe. Third there is www.d20herosrd.com with just the free rules and the heroes John Reyst was able to put up on the site. I feel confident that I understand the rules well enough to teach the game. Anything I don't know I will not hesitate to crack open the book or fire up the website to look for an official answer, and I can probably pull a stop gap answer out of my hat in a timely fashion if that's what's required. My unofficial greeting on these boards is "I am super interested in Mutants and Masterminds Third Edition." but lets instead just say I'm interested in joining your campaign if you run one Brandon. Either as a player or as an assistant if you'll have me. Have fun. I recommend the system. I like the system. Yay super heroes.
Reading through it right now and i can say I might be intrested in giving it a try.
I am reading through it and building a campaign. I might be interested in running a one off game and seeing how that goes.

I really want the players to make their own characters.

Cool yeah. I am writing a campaign right now. Does anyone have any characters? I am sorry it is taking so long. :)

i would not mind trying this out the only problems are i have no books and am a mute so i can not talk on here except of course through typing
I might need help lacking a charater
Jay D.: you could try what I'm trying, start with the characterization of the character and then slap the super powers and the rest of the stat block ontop of the core personality. I rolled for a random Motivation, other complication, and third complication, and three random personality traits. What I have so far is Motivation: Acceptance, Complication: Obsession, Complication: Secret, and personality for traits: Intelligent, Impartial, Humble.
Jay if you need any help just check out the Campaign page and we have a thread about characters. John's character is on there right now.
brandon, anyone who is not in the campaign can not see the campaign page. which would be a bigger issue if you had not already posted a direct join link.
True, thank you John.
