This thread is only for character related history, and no other subject. Players will be offered an opportunity to answer questions and prompts, that may adjust other player histories. Once a player answers the question, the highlighted character will have 1 point added to the related runner score. Example: Cougar was in a session with Rev Limiter and Diamond Back. The question: Pick one other character, what did they learn about your character? So the player for Cougar answered Rev, and then shared a short reflection to possibly answer what and why. In this case, a long interaction at the Penumbra possibly revealed to Rev that Cougar depended on playing a specific role in their new team, that wasn't being the leader of the group. This would score 1 point for Rev's history with Cougar. After adjusting the values, then Rev's player would get a chance to answer the same question. Her choice could easily be any other character that was in the same session. Aside from the questions, the reflection on character histories, other points may be scored. When you character interferes, helps, or injures another player then that other character scores 1 history point for each incident. This might not happen as often as you might think, but the possibility is there. For instance, back on the barge, the fight ring caused Qing and Gibs to fight each other. Even if they weren't fully in control, it still happened. This is where they each earned one point for the other. Now with all of this in mind:

During the Barge scenes, pick only one other character that was present, what did they learn about your survivor?
To clarify, the character you name would score a point on their sheet for your character. You get nothing.
I guess I'll start with a simple one, Striker knows that Castien has very little fighting ability, and he's the only one who saw him in the slave outfit. Not only that, but he knows that Castien owes somebody money, and that's probably why he ended up on that barge in the first place. I can edit this if it's not enough or if it's too vague.
No editing needed. It is almost perfect. The character is named, and this points to a moment that did happen. The lack of fighting ability is a very specific thing, and definitely answers to that moment of reflection. Everything else is good, and can now be considered as icing on the cake. Because this will then give a bullet point, or plot hook depending on who comes back to make use of it later. Now, Engin33r can go back to Striker's sheet and then add 1 point to Castien's history. Private Shorty is now done with this question, and can now go back to whatever he was doing. I imagine that like me, it might be waiting for the next entry to be posted.

Quick question, could I argue that Striker earned a point with Qing because he saved her life but she doesn't know it so am not sure if he actually earned it. Castien(because it makes the most sense) would have learned that Striker is preparing for something, to expand upon that he would understand what ever it is has Striker extremely on edge but also very angry. Castien might have gotten a glimpse of Striker checking the sights of one of his pistols but aiming a little to long and staring at a target with too much focus. The way he was cautious of seeking out the voices and the way he was looking for valuables even when faced with the horrific decaying scenes on the barge would have raised some questions. Castien would have gotten a strong sense of arrogance or confidence that Striker was going to get of the barge, no matter the cost.
No. This shouldn't work that way. It is meant for the players to give points, not take them. Maybe as clarification, if the thinking were more like a bid, to earn a point from Qing, then it could be an option for the player to decide with. In the case of saving her life, she was unconscious at that very moment. It might be something she would learn later. My guess is that she didn't want to learn of it. I couldn't justify validating these points anyway. These are based on player decision, about character history. A part of the last sentence works best. As maybe a part of the audience, and as GM, I did see something like a misdirected notion. Striker did cast an intentional aura of confidence, be it more of a training mindset. Maybe even perceived as arrogance. Especially, the moments around when they met. Striker didn't let the distraction Castien was to be a hindrance. Yes, he did acknowledge the predicament the elf was in, but Striker kept charge of his plan. If I am even close to your idea, within that framing of the scene. Maybe not so much with the part of being on edge, or being angry. Everyone had something similar to convey like that. In the barge, all of the survivors dealt with its ugliness - its threat. Shorty should go to Castien's sheet and and add 1 point to Striker's history.
I do have a thought on Qing. It came to me while writing the other post. Her brilliance as a character just may enlighten us with a different notion. I have a speculation on it, because I think her situation is more tricky. With History, the points can only be directed to other players. Not NPCs. Wilcard, if he was a player character, could be in the running. However, he is not.
I don't know if this works or not but, Castien learned the significant problem that Qing doesn't speak English.
Yes this will work. In a couple different ways too.

The only player left to share their answer on this, is McHuff. Gibs situation was nearly as tricky. I am interested to see what his answer is to this question for Character History. Who will he pick? What did that character learn about Gibs? Once we find out, the chapter of the Broken Barge can be closed, and left to rest at the bottom of the sea. As a distant memory in the survivors' minds.

Qing Daofu fought and defeated Gibs on the barge. She knows his practical self defense fighting style is intended to incapacitate through joint locks and throws. Her victory has given her a better understanding of his strengths and weaknesses.
Okay. Done and done.
It is coming up. The safehouse scene will be ending soon. Players may this answer right away, or wait until the new scene is open. During the Safehouse scene, pick only one other character that was present, what did they learn about your runner? These rookie shadowrunners should feel like they are real people. I really do like this collection of characters. They are cool, yet complicated. They have their own history, and the other characters are very much aware of the surroundings they have. They may not like each other, and that is what is making this game great. They are learning to communicate with each other, and seem to be embracing their common ground.
Gibs was the first member of the group to learn a potentially viable method of communication with Qing.
Castien spoke with Gibs during the 3 day break we got, he wanted to learn more about the Dwarf, but ended up revealing a bit too much about his own past. Gibs knows now that Castien hasn't done much shadowrunner work before, and the few jobs he has gone on, haven't turned out super great. He didn't tell Gibs that they botched missions were his fault, but he said that they did go wrong, and that he was there for it.
Right on.

Qing probably thinks that Striker wasn't used to working with a group or is an idiot, most people would have avoided the apparent collision with her but its strange someone would have charged in anyway.
Castien learned Gibs was a detective in Charlotte.
Okay. Done and Done.
