how the Looking for group works?

Hi, completely new to roll20 and have a quick question (I have looked for an answer but didn't find one). With the Looking for Group option at the top of the page (The one that lists the games rather then this forum) I see games advertised as having x amount of slots available. When I check back the next day the games have had a bunch of responses yet still it says the same x slots available. It even looks like some games are bumped after all the responses with no change. Does roll20 not allow an update of the slots available or am I missing something? Thanks for your help :)
Hello Jason, and welcome to Roll20. I hope you find the site as helpful as I have in finding other gamers and hosting games. The "x amount of slots available" signifies the present number of people invited to the game versus the maximum number of people. For example I have a one-shot 3.5 DND adventure advertised that says 6/7 (1 slot) since I am now almost filled up to my maximum number of players. When I get that last elusive participant, and they accept, my one-shot will disappear from the LFG as I will have my max number of players. If you don't see the numbers change then the GM of game has not returned to invite people into the game, or that the people invited did not accept yet. I've tried to join games that the GM never returned to and they just timed out. Hope this helps a bit. Good Gaming!

That's right. Usually if the LFG is still open with "slots", then the GM is still accepting applications. For example the GM might log-in after a week, and read the various responses, and then decide who to invite into the game to fill the slots. It is up to the GM to send the Join Link to the players the GM chooses to invite. Once those Players accept the invitation and click Join Game, then yes, Roll20 does automatically update the number of slots filled. Here is a page in the Wiki Docs with more information about how the LFG listings work, https://wiki.roll20.net/Looking_for_Group
Thank you both for the guidence :)
