Proble with huge LAG after a while

Hello everybody, First of all I wanto to say that this site, this project it's fantastic! I was looking for something like that for a long time! My problem is that after a while (4 player joined my campaign) all of the campaign is starting to have a huge lag. When, for example, I click on a token after 2-3 sec slowly are coming out all the "little balls" with the stats. And this is becoming really game killing ufortunatly. How can I fix that? my Pc isn't a problem because I've checked all resourses (CPu usage, Ram usage) and it's fast and free. What could it be? Thank you very much for any help!

Are you running your games natively or through Google Hangouts?

Is there any one else on your network? I notice severe lag when my son or wife is online at the same time also.
Are you using web cameras? That's what causes slow down and crashes for my team. I just had everyone stop using it, even though it was fun to show our character's expression. Web cams also caused lag when I streamed, and I had audio issues on my end because of it.
I'm running it throught Chrome like, normaly I think. Nobody else on the network except for me. I'm not using any cameras or audio chat or similar, all disable. What could it be?

Have you done a speedtest on your internet connection? Sometimes that will highlight a bottleneck because it sounds like there is a bottleneck somewhere. Does it happen only with you or only when you are with everyone? Mike G. Poli said: My problem is that after a while (4 player joined my campaign) all of the campaign is starting to have a huge lag. You indicated after you are with your group but has it happen when you are in the game board by yourself? If it doesn't then that might indicate that there is a possibility that one of the others could be causing it also. Do you know what the others are using for browser and such? The more information you supply the better it is for the dev's to figure out what is happening.

Also, what are you using for graphics?
The test results are kind of good (2Mb in download and only 0.5Mb in upload but I don't think that is the problem). Also it started after a while, when I first log in it was fluid, but after a while it become laggy. Could it be the graphics file that I'm using as background? but with only my current campaign I'm using only 21Mb of space, so it looks like "small". The problem is that when I'm setting up the Campaign it all become slow, moving stuffs and so on. The other players are not experiencing the same problem, they say it's normal.

ok that narrows it down some. It seems your graphics load is causing some of the problem. Are you using for your background a png or jpg? Do you have other programs running as this happens? Do you have a lot of tokens in use also? Can you have the windows task manager up and running for you to look at when you are experiencing this? It might show an unusual high ram demand. Right now all this is trying to figure out what is happening.&nbsp; So far you have a graphics lag problem that you experience when you are working with your graphics and this happens whether you are by yourself or in a group. You've checked your bandwidth and it looks good (mine is about yours). No one else is experiencing the problem. It points at your computer so far. Can you go to&nbsp; <a href="http://supportdetails.com/" rel="nofollow">http://supportdetails.com/</a> &nbsp;and post everything but your IP address here. This is just info gathering still. Sorry it is not a quick answer but I'm sure the mods and devs are working on it along with probably other people.

If you're using images that are meant for print, they tend to be overly bloated in file size due to the image resolution. This can really slow a campaign down if the images you're using aren't web friendly. How big are these images and what file type are they?
With the task manager open, when I load the campaign the cpu usage do not go over 9% and 150Mb of Ram usage (less than 30% with all the system usage), so apparently it's not a performance issue. Now I've got 6 pages on my campaign and all of them are Png. the file dimesions are between 3Mb (the biggest) and 500Kb. there are around 5/6 token per map but there is the big map (that i'm using for a big dungeon) that have around 20-30 (all the hidden monsters, traps, treasures, and so on). Maybe is the "big page" that is overloading somehow the site, I can try to remove it to spot some difference. Is there a possibility to "Save" the page, then delete it and to possibly restore it? Because It took me some time to arrange all the stuffs in it :) The post result from the site is: Operating System Microsoft Windows 8 Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Web Browser Chrome 28.0.1500.63 Browser Size 1920 x 947 Color Depth 32 bit Javascript Enabled Flash Version 11.7.700 Cookies Enabled Anyway guys, thanks for the help!

I'd recommend converting your images to jpgs, unless they need transparency. PNG use should be kept at a minimum because they're large files. These images you're using sound really big. Their image resolution are probably over 70-100DPI, which isn't web-friendly. There's no way to save a Page. Roll20 saves dynamically instead of in states. If you delete the page, you'd have to build it again from scratch.

Mike, the problem is most likely not your CPU or RAM usage. The problem is probably that large PNGs take a lot of video processing power. PNGs should be reserved for only those occasions where you need transparencies and with the knowledge that a large PNG may cause video processing issues. - Gauss
As suggested I've converted all of the images in Jpeg, ma the problem unfortunatly persist. Is it could be the tokens? I suppose they are in png too.. maybe they are the problem?

tokens generally have to be png due to the transparent background needed.

Mike, what is the resolution (DPI) of the maps? How many tokens are on the board?&nbsp; Also, please PM me a join link. I will come take a look. - Gauss
I have a big one that is 300 Dpi, that is the one I use for the big dungeon map.All the others are 72 Dpi. The tokens are around 5-7 per page, but the big dungeon map have 30 or more (like hidden doors, monsters, various stuff).

Mike, dial that big map image down to somewhere in the 70-100 DPI range and see if that helps.
