A very new player to AD&D but I have 15 years experience roleplaying (primarily DMing other systems). Is anyone here running a Dark Sun game? Thanks for your time. - John M.

I am considering to run a Dark Sun game from long time, tried to convert the system from AD&D, but I gave up. Might run one with the old, original system, concentrating more t o the story then the system itself. I would love to run the game as in the first edition box setting, so Templars would be a choice. I like the idea of character trees, giving the chance to players to create four related characters, and selecting one to play at each session. The place where the champaign would be based is Nibenay, the Ivory Triangle, but when we have a full party we can talk about the details.  I am am also considering to use the skills and powers options, but that is just a possibility. So what do you think? Are you interested? Also what kind of games you used to play and run? What kind of games and style you like?
So what do you think? Sounds like a plan. Count me in. I would need to sit down and hammer down the system a little bit better. I'll need help in character creation potentially, depending on what level we start, etc.   Are you interested? I'm very fascinated by anything Dark Sun. Having never run or played in the system I'd be willing to play anything at this point. Definitely interested!  Also what kind of games you used to play and run? I've primarily run 3.5 and Pathfinder games. I have a homebrew world that I run both my campaigns in currently. The world has been on-going for nearly 15 years. What kind of games and style you like? Honestly, I'm down for anything but I do love role-playing more from time to time. I like delving deep in a story and watching the characters getting immersed. If you have any more questions I'll be happy to answer them. - John M.
Great! The system is much easier to handle than 3.5, and through the years I realised; it has some advantage over the newer version of the D&Ds, namely, you do not need to handle a large amount of special abilities and modifiers as a DM as in 3.5's high level games.  I will ill need some time to prepare the game, I am a bit rusty with my roleplaying and storytelling skills. At the moment I can only do text communication, but I invite you to the game page and we can create some characters there. I have some pre-made characters almost ready there to give an example or to be selected.
Depending on the time zone this would take place, I am interested as well.
That is a good question. I live in UK but then I do generally afternoon shifts, couple of hours in late nights at certain days could be good for me, even early mornings in my time if it is necessary. My. Off days are Sunday and Thuesday in each week.
Sound good. CEST (UST+1) here.
That's great. Send me an email in private and I invite you.
