Before I start, I want to say this lore can be edited or added on if you guys have an idea for any of this! If you want to add another god or goddess, then go right ahead! Also! Wanted to make this a point: If you wanted a buff, praise, attention, or fortune from a god, you'd haft to pray to your respective god either alone, at a church under the god's name, or at a statue of the god. So if you wanted a boost to say illusion magic *cough* process *cough*, you could pray to the goddess of chaos Macha, since she was the first goddess to use and create illusion magics. You can do, in a attempt to get a final and desperate blow on an enemy say "Tethys, give me the strength to defeat this minion of darkness!" or before battle "Nuadha (or Morrighan), grant me the power to defeat my enemy in combat!" The buffs will be temporary but hey, a buff is a buff! Also, that is if they decide to listen to your cry for aid. I'll be releasing more lore for people who want to get a better understanding about the background rather than just running around in a world where I just send monsters at you :P If anything seems off I'm sorry! I posted this a bit late. The Beginning The world was created just the same as other worlds in the primal plane, through an explosion at the birth of time. Worlds and different dimensions were in a primal state of chaos where fire was the ruler of their domains. From this chaos on Norastir is what set the wheel of fate spinning. Though not the ruler of the god’s we know today, the first god to be brought into this world was the goddess of chaos named Macha . Born into the world as a weak god, Macha later began to feed on the world’s chaos before actually obtaining her full strength. From this chaos spawned the two major forces that derive from the chaos: Tethys Goddess of Light and Grapha God of Darkness who will later be also the God of Death. It was said that even though Tethys and Grapha were considered neutral with each other to begin with, it was Macha who met the two individually, that started the flame beginning the never ending conflict between light and dark. The first conflict between Tethys and Grapha fed Macha even more actually making Macha the first and most powerful god at the time. However, to Macha’s dismay, the conflict between light and dark brought a mutual balance upon the world which cooled the earth below them. From this, landscapes begin to form and the first rains began to pour upon the land. Itix , Goddess of Land, was brought upon the scene along with Lir , god of the seas. Unlike the goddess of light and god of death, Itix and Lir started with a hatred for one another, fighting for more control of their domain. From this conflict brought upon the strongest storms and most violent quakes in all of history for centuries. After many years of conflict, signs of life began to form collectively from the god’s personalities and qualities that would create the first races on the planet. This didn’t stop Itix and Lir from fighting amongst themselves however. It was believed that there were more than the two original races that existed in ancient times but were wiped out by the god’s quarrels. The two races that spawned from this conflict were the Vanar who took more of Macha’s chaotic nature and the god’s arrogance for conflict, and the Elves who took more of Tethys’ calming nature and the god’s will to keep a calm state of mind. These two races were considered extremely frail and powerless appearing on what seems only to be a deity’s playground that minor injury was considered near fatal and the onslaught of creatures formed also by the god’s traits were a death sentence. From the two original race’s determination to survive in a hostile environment, Nuadha , God of Mortality and Strength (Later also becoming the King of the Gods or “God of Gods”) and Revlis , Goddess of Mana and Magic, were spawned and protected the Vanar and Elves by giving them strength and magic. By this time, Nuadha took it upon himself to create a plane above the world for him to sit and observe the mortals below which was later called Lemuria, also known as the Throne of the Gods. After the creation of Lemuria, Nuadha invited the current gods of the world to his domain where each god were to confront all the others for the first time. It was this meeting that further angered Grapha since he noticed a feeling of distrust amongst all the other gods including the one he trusted the most, Macha. Also, Itix and Lir came to an agreement (With the help of Nuadha) to keep their lands they currently own under the understanding that if more of either land or sea would emerge, the opposing god has a right to take that back. Revlis and Nuadha have taken upon themselves to protect the original races until they are strong enough to fend for themselves before they only govern their strength and magic as well. Finally, Nuadha extended Lemuria to accommodate the other gods to live on this higher plane, governing Norastir from above. All of the gods, except Macha, have agreed to acknowledge Nuadha as the King of the Gods who later takes a liking to Revlis. Revlis becomes his wife but the other gods don’t acknowledge her as Queen of the Gods. Nuadha keeping the peace between the gods infuriated Macha since she can’t intervene with their affairs anymore. Instead of bolting away from the comfort of Lemuria, Macha decided to continue to remain at peace in Lemuria… but meddle with the mortals below often giving them visions or hailing them with illusions. Grapha on the other hand cannot stand the very thought of a higher god like himself to live with the God of Light and sees Nuadha as an anchor to keep her in this higher plane. So, he begins to plot. A few years later, after the world begins to take its shape, Grapha begins to grown impatient but waits for the right moment to strike. Below the gods in the world of Norastir, Macha has planted a seed of hatred for the Elven Leader's mind for the Vanarians. Shortly after, a bloody battle ensued between the ancient races which gripped Nuadha’s attention. While Nuadha was distracted by the mortals below, he took this opportunity to strike at the king of the gods. Fortunately, Tethys was able to see him enter the king’s private chamber and restrain him. “Betrayal will not be tolerated in my domain! For your crimes, you will be punished and no longer welcome to set foot amongst the Gods of Lemuria!” With those words, Nuadha creates a realm of darkness for the dark god to rule from for the rest of his days, binding him with chains and vines from the charred earth below him. This realm will later become known as the Dark World. Nuadha however assumed that the war between the Vanar and the Elves was started due to Grapha’s plan to distract him. Macha over heard this and was pleased that her work would go unnoticed. This is where her true chaos was found and took pleasure from the conflict in the mortal realm. As soldiers died and people grew old or died of karma/misfortune, lost souls began to wander the halls of Lemuria which quickly became a problem. Tethys volunteered to take souls with light embedded in them and bring them eternal peace. As for the souls who contained hatred and darkness, Nuadha appointed a soul who had extraordinary power to tend to the damned and bring them to the Dark World. This new god became known as Cichol , God of the Damned, or Reaper of the Dark World. Cichol, unlike Grapha, had the ability to freely pass between the Dark World and the mortal realm without penalty but was given this under one condition: do not seek the God of Darkness. Cichol obeyed Nuadha’s command for centuries until he himself came under doubt. He has never seen Lemuria since he was first created and thought that Nuadha may have forgotten him, leaving him to care for his dirty work. This sparked interest in breaking his condition to seek the dark god that dwells within the Dark World. After years of searching, a whisper reached his mind. “They… Have… Abandoned… You.” Cichol began to follow his whispers until he was led to a hidden door he has never seen before. Entering the chasm, he found a massive horror chained to the walls and bound by vines. “You have been betrayed as I did by the other gods.” Grapha said to Cichol. “We have been… Relinquished.” After finding out Grapha was the God of Darkness, Cichol began to follow the commands of Grapha by first building a citadel above and around his prison and carrying out missions to the mortal realm. Eventually this grew into the first major conflict between the gods since the war between the Vanar and the Elves. Teaching some of his dark magics of alchemy to Cichol, Cichol brought his knowledge to the world and disguised himself as a man in dark robes, influencing the people he came across and teaching them the ways of the darkness and alchemy. The war between the Tuatha and Tara sparked and raged on until Tethys’ knights, also called Paladins/Warriors of the Light, intervened. After this failure to have a foothold in the mortal realm, Grapha begins to conceal himself into the darkness of the Dark World, concealing both the light and other gods from seeing his true position in the Dark World. Ruling from the shadow and clouding the minds of those who follow the light, Grapha begins to take his plans to the next level. Other gods to note that were not mentioned: Nao: Goddess of Love. She was the first child of Nuadha and Revlis. Aton: God of Marksmanship. Morrighan: Goddess of War/Warriors. Helvetius: God of Shadows and Misfortune. Eladha: Goddess of Wisdom. What they look like: Nuadha Cichol Macha Tethys Revlis Grapha Lir Itix
