The Plan of Attack vs.the Ghouls and Ghasts

Atm i'm up front with my Protection From Evil 10' Radius armor ability active, I'm going to shield punch through the mob right in front of me to knock it down as i step into the room to stand beside Balfon. This will allow my Protection the engulf the room and others to enter the room so they can fight and leave the casters and range people at the door, the ranged to make sure no one comes up from behind. I'll then cast my Remove Paralysis on Balfon, so he can then down a potion or Cure Light Wounds or wait for me to cast it on him.

It sounds like you're wanting to try and shield rush / overbear and run over the opponent, rather than a shield punch, because the punch just does damage like a normal attack roll and the description also says that "...the character moves into the square of his opponent on his base initiative, then executes the shield punch and backs out into his own square again on the following initiative phase. " Be sure to take a look at those exact handouts in-game to determine what exactly you would like to do. Also, remember, I have to roll secretly to see how long it takes for potions to take effect in a situation where timing is critical. There is a slight delay which would also need to be taken into consideration should that pose any potential issues at this stage of the game.
Sorry my net failed last night. Didn't come back up till this morning.
Yes i have a chance of knocking down the mob with a shield punch page 51 of the Combat & Tactics pdf, i deal 1d6 damage and knockdown with a d10 which puts me in the mobs space. If i'm successful in knocking target down then i can take a 5 foot step in any direction in stead of taking my second attack. which the 5 foot step will put me at Balfons feet. Next when it comes back to me I will cast Remove Paralysis on him or just guard him till all mobs are dealt with.

Both Shield Punch and Shield Rush are described in detail on page 46. Again, for the punch , you would have to back out of the square that you were in, which I don't think is what you want. In either case, the chance of success is based upon opposed strength checks. If a monster is stronger than you, then that would not help you I'm afraid, but, that's the gamble you would face with that tactic, I suppose. Be aware that you forfeit any shield bonuses that round, so if the monsters come after you in the init order, your AC will be worse. Not to mention if you fail your attack roll (since you don't have a high enough dexterity with reaction adjustment to offset the attack roll penalty) you have to make a dexterity check to see if you stay on your feet, otherwise you'll be on the floor with Balfon, at the mercy of the undead creatures, with no AC bonuses at all, spending round after round just trying to stand up! Even if the attack is successful, the monster has a save vs. death to not be knocked down. Both shield rush and shield punch were in the released rules erratta here... http://www.wizards.com/dnd/DnDPlayersOptionCombatT...
