Welcome to the Community. I'm running 5th edition game one shots every two weeks, on weekday nights, set in a heavy narrative style low-magic gritty, political / intrigue dark ages fantasy world of my own design, roughly centered on an Arabic / Eastern med-flavored few countries (but not on Earth) deal. I also have a regular game Thu Nights EST, but it's full with 7 players. I used to be a Tremere, back in the day when VtM was really huge, but that was nearly two decades ago. Wearing the costume (I lived in a town in Ohio with a great costume store that was half a block long) and a Russian / Vienna accent was pretty cool, but in the end the Camarilla was 150 people, so way too big to get a lot done, despite a decent GM and 5 assistants. To many political things going on, and infighting. I am not a big fan of clove cigarettes these days, but taking over a Denny's post-game till dawn was the big kick. That was back when I had energy. Weekdays before 5 PM is a bit tough, some weekends. There is also an all female roleplaying group around here that I think is still actively recruiting. And I know a few female players from past games I've run or played with. There are resources and people here. There are also, obviously, 3.5 games here too. Pathfinder, Savage Worlds, and 5e D&D are the big push but you can find Star Wars, also, but mostly Fantasy Flight and a few SAGA (I used to run Saga here, but when WOTC dumped it, the writing was on the wall, right?) My wife has played in my Star Trek, when I ran it here, but it's too hard to find people for it. She yawns at Star Wars. If you want to learn 5e, I teach it to people completely new to it in my one shots. I run one when I have enough people, and tie those stories that result into my main campaign, as background or sideplots of the main plot. Good luck in your search.
