I am trying to upload a new token or twelve and when I load any of them, they appear as broken images in my Library. Help?

Hello Dupree, Have you tried both methods of uploading the tokens (browse to file or the drag and drop method)? Which method (if one works) does not work? If you have tried both and still have problems then can you please follow Steps 1-3 of our Solving Technical Issues wiki page, taking special care to temporarily disable all browser add-ons and extensions, temporarily pause your anti-virus, and try switching browsers (for Chrome/Firefox specific issues) to see if one of those components is causing the problem. If all of that fails, please follow Step 4 , including providing all of the necessary information, so that we can further assist you.

I tried both, neither worked. I'll let you know how all these other steps go. Thank you for getting back at me.

Bug Report: When I select a file to upload into my Library for tokens, the file uploads, but the image appears as a broken image file in the Library and I cannot use it in my games. This happens when I upload the file using the Browse Folder button or the drag-and-drop method. I attempt to upload a file and it comes up as a broken image as above. Thank you for the information Dupree. I'm going to bump this up to more technically skilled people to look at.
Thanks Pat S. as I am also unable to place tokens of anysort. Thanks

Dupree -- It looks like you are uploading .gif files, which we don't support as well as other file formats...it should be giving you an error telling you that. Can you try with a JPG or PNG and see if you are still getting the same error?

It has never had a problem before. Why all of a sudden no on .gif?

Also, if GIF isn't supported, why when I set to upload an image file does it read as follows: Drop a file to add it to Your Library (JPG, PNG, GIF)

PNG works...but ya. Might want to change your script so people don't think they can continue to use gifs. I'm just glad all the ones I've already loaded haven't crashed out for some reason, forcing me to reload everything.

I think you can upload a GIF and we would "do our best" with it, but it has never been fully supported. I think the main thing is most GIFs are animated and we don't support that currently (and haven't previously, either). That said, I just tried uploading a GIF file myself that I randomly pulled off the Internet and it worked fine. So I think the main thing to take away is not "Roll20 doesn't support GIFs at all", but rather, GIF is a weird file format that may cause issues depending on how the GIF was created. So it may have just been something wrong with the specific file you were uploading? Also just to be clear, nothing about uploading changed in this update, it's the same uploader we've been using for 6+ months at this point. Hope that helps!

No problems. I converted it to png. Thanks for the help.
Bummer, I have this same issue, and I wish I didn't have to change the file format since all of my monster tokens are in gif format. Very strange, I have been using gifs for over a year, then stopped working all of a sudden a week ago. Oh well.

Same here. But they say nothing changed, so...yup. Ok.
Hi Guys, I have the same problems with (not animated) .GIFs. They always worked and now they simply do not work anymore... I also tried to upload an old file that was working perfectly and now it doesn't... Please fix it...

They want you to use PNGs instead.
