WFRP 2 Edition on Roll20

I interested in hearing from anyone who uses Roll20 to GM WFRP games, particularly for version 2. I've just started experimenting with the Roll20 system, having used PBEM to run a WFRP game in the past, and so I'm intersted in hearing from others who have advice or guidance on how to make the most of it.  My son is a long standing Roll20 player and so has some experience, but not with WFRP. So, far I've got the bare bones of a character sheet laid out, and begun importing some of the basic maps and floorplans etc.  I'm just wonderingat the moment how far to go with the macro's and whether they will really help or hinder. Any comments welcome.

I don't have any experience of the system myself but Roll20 does lend itself well to any system :) I just wanted to drop a message to make sure you were aware of the community character sheets that can be used on campaigns. There are currently 2 variations of a WFRP sheet available to choose from. This  Wiki page can tell you more.

Basically, at the moment I working my way through Daves video guide on how to set up a Roll20 Campaign from scratch.  So, I've just completed my basic master character sheet as suggested.  It sounds like I may have just wasted a few hours of my time, which is exactly why I thought I'd ask the question. Where do I find these WFRP sheets, I looked at the wiki page but didn't see a link to them? Hmm! Actually I may have a more serious problem because I'm pretty sure I've started a Game not a Campaign, which might explain why I didn't see the character sheet option. Is there a difference, and if so how do I correct my mistake?

Sorry, thats my bad... i should know better, the recent revamp of the site rebranded campaigns as games to allow greater versatility in the Roll20 planned usage... just read game wherever i've put campaign! sorry for the confusion... To apply a sheet to your campaign you need to go to the campaign page>settings>game settings: Near the bottom there will be a drop down menu where you can select the character sheet for your campaign, it will currently be set to none or custom (which will be blank but allows you to create your own if you are a Pro subscriber). Right down at the bottom of the drop down (or use the search option) you'll find the warhammer options, selecting one will give you preview of it to the right. You can always change it afterwards if you use one but don't like it although if the fields don't share a name you may lose data so its best to pick one and stick with it early on. Fortunately you haven't wasted your time setting your own up using attributes... you've invested time in familiarising yourself with the attributes tab ;) Besides, you might not even like the sheets on offer...

Phew! Well that's a relief anyway. I kept seeing references to starting a campaign, and screen shots showing a Start Campaign button, and wondering why my game was called a game and I didn't seem to have the campaign option.  I was getting worried that I'd missed something in the set-up, and a campaign was some sort of higher level set-up mode (e.g. a Campaign consists of many Games) that I'd somehow missed, or wasn't available to non-subscribers trying out the system. Now I know that Game and Campaign are the same thing I can relax.   I'll have a look at these character sheets, and see if the look useful.  The only possible problem is that they are related to 3rd edition, but even then I could probably edit them once they are downloaded or whatever.

The wiki still needs a bit of updating (the latest Interface Initiative release was only a week ago) so you will still see references to campaigns there and in forum searches but fear not, you will have everything you need to create a fun environment for your chosen system. With regards to the sheets being 3rd edition there is no reason why they couldn't be tweaked by a friendly Pro level subscriber (you could ask in the character sheet forum for such a being) or if you are familiar with HTML and CSS you could subscribe and make one yourself (there isn't even anything to stop you subscribing for a single month, creating the sheet and adding it to the repository, then cancelling your subscription and using the sheet like any other community sheet...). [edit] the first sheet on the list entitled 'Warhammer Fantasy' might be more suited as it doesn't seem to have some of the 3rd edition features of the other sheet (i've literally just read about some core differences to try and help you out so forgive if i'm way off... If you are planning on GMing regularly i highly recommend checking out the  subscriber benefits as players within your campaign also benefit from your subscription... however at this early stage just play around and have fun. The beauty of Roll20 is that you can have as much fun for free as you could by subscribing =D

For what its worth, Ive used that first sheet just messing around, and from what I could tell it does seem to be fine with 2nd edition

I've just been fiddling around with it and successfully used it to record one of the NPC's details. The only minor differences seem to be in some of the terminology e.g. Agility instead of Dexterity, and no Cool stat(not that it got used much) I was also a bit puzzled by the existence of all the predefined skills on the right, but there didn't seem to be a way of deleting them.  So, unless everyone is supposed to be at least partly skilled in Animal Care etc. I'm not sure what they are about. I was  also a bit confused at the difference between Skills and Talents, but again, as long as the sheet doesn't do something different about the distinction I assume they are interchangeable. I'd have to come up with a way of recording social standing as that is missing form the sheet,  but it should be relatively easy to add.  I'll have to have a look at some of the macro next and make sure they work as expected.
