Is there any way to make the microphone optionally push-to-talk?
My companions can hear my background sound unless I tune the mic very low and then they don't hear my voice very well.
there's a couple ways around this.
First, if you have a microphone with a mute button on it, you can use that. Sort of opposite of PTT.
Second, you can use the tokbox icon for yourself to adjust your volume and or mute yourself that way. Same idea.
This works with Google Hangouts too - you can mute yourself using the in-browser controls.
Unfortunately we have very little control over how TokBox handles vchat (it's a third party component). We're looking for alternative services (WebRTC being the primary goal), but it's the only free solution we have presently.
