Where to find free art assets?

I'm just now starting the process of assembling a collection of art assets to use in my campaign. Some things, like the map for the campaign setting, I'm freehanding in Inkscape. Other stuff I've pulled from the old and forgotten 3.5 archives on the D&D site, such as maps and NPC portraits.* Now I'm wondering: what other sites have you found useful for this kind of material? *There are actually TWO archives, that don't link to each other. One has the maps, the other has the portraits. It's not too hard to find either, once you know they exist.
Um.... https://marketplace.roll20.net/
You'll find links to ressources (maps and tokens among them) here: http://www.battlegroundsgames.com/links.html And I have a few on my blog: http://toybox-sw.blogspot.be/search/label/Tokens
I looked through the marketplace somewhat, but I'm not too keen on spending anything right now. I've pulled some of the free tokens, mostly I'm looking for public domain or fair use stuff. Those links are great!
I would recommend simply raiding deviantArt. The amount of art there is.. somewhat staggering. Some of it is even good.
deviantArt is a must for illustrations and the like (and probably, more to the point CGHUB http://cghub.com/ ). Buuut... I can be mistaken, but there are not much maps and no tokens on deviantArt?
I second deviantArt, combined with the token tool from http://www.rptools.net/ and that accounts for over half the art resources I use. I prefer using google image search (my slow connection makes browsing DA a nightmare) instead of the one on deviantArt. Just type "site:deviantart.com" after your search term into google, it's faster and gives you more control. You can specify things like the minimum size, that I find very useful.
http://www.rpgmapshare.com. Do not use VTTs without it.
Dundjinni.com has tons of stuff, including awesome map tiles.
