Spacebar/waypoint function for the regular ruler?

It's great to be able to drag icons and use the spacebar to place waypoints to see total distance traveled. But for judication, pre-planning, and for measuring distances without having to move icons, I wish we could use the ruler. I can just measure one line, then another, then another. But it would be SO much nicer if I had the spacebar function for the ruler, too.

It's not a perfect workaround, but you can use the waypoints on your tokens and then drop the token back on the greyed out original location of your token and it will stay where it was.  That is what I do in those situations.
