Very exciting! Thrilled about bringing the focus to Old School Moldvay-era BASIC D&D! I hope some of the innovations from the Character Sheet contest will come to availability for all Roll20 D&D Basic gamers. Looking forward to see what the Character Sheet "Auteurs" make for this, mixing the old school appearance and simple stats, with the power of Roll20's rolling and chat-text output. Thanks skinnyghost! Planning to tune in for the sessions whenever you introduce/discuss this game, and when it's eventually broadcasted. p.s. If anyone needs a "sheet tester" before the contest deadline, I will be happy to help someone with your entry.
Should be a year, not three months. $30 for what could be days worth of work, testing, editing, and graphics design?
Looking forward to this, I've been running B/X D&D exclusively on Roll20 for over a year now and currently have two active B/X campaigns going. I too hope that a B/X character sheet will be made available to everyone.

Methinks bragging rights are the reward, and the subscription is just something tacked on to make it official. Not that I would turn down a year's subscription...

The plan is definitely to release the sheet as a public asset. Moldvay for all!
And here I was just about to try to convert X1: The Isle of Dread to 5E. :)
I love old school D&D. I have a rulebook from 1988. I thought that this might be fun. To do a beautiful and graphically informative character sheet. Then I realised it would have to be done in the limits of my skills in html or with huge amount of time spent on studying how to get things my way. :/ I can't art my way through this...

@skinnyghost are there more specifics regarding submitting a sheet? Just create a new folder in Sheets repo or somewhere more specific?

Just throw it up in GitHub when you are done. Making sure to label it is Moldvay D&D so we know what it is for.

Do you want a sheet that's the closest possible to the PDF linked ? (with the green background and everything)

It should look like a sheet of graph paper, with a coffee stain. Thats what all ours back in those days looked like. And written in pencil.

Do sheets that don't meet all the requirements can be submitted ? Because some of them (requirements) seem quite difficult to achieve (imho), even when using the API (and I guess that using the API is not what the Roll20 team wants in this case ?).

Well, I did what I could with my not-so-extensible free time and limited skills : pull request It needs some polishing and improvements by the real Roll20 pros (on the automation/roll side, not all the requirements are met) and some english-is-my-mother-tongue proof reader ..., but I'm happy to have tried. Enjoy (or not ;) ) !
...yer missing the coffee stain. Here is one you can add!

Totally not going to make the deadline. :(

I worked over the weekend on this (for too many hours)... still working. :-) EDIT: Not going to happen. Damn you real world obligations... Can't wait to see the cool designs. Cheers.
I know, right? The contest started as soon as my college did (strangely enough, I'm taking a computer class to help me get better at character design). Ah, well. Best wishes to whoever wins.
This contest has ended. The winner will be announced after a review period. Thanks to all who entered!
