Hi everyone, Let me begin by saying that I'm excited to get started with using Roll20 and happy to say this is what I've been looking for. What I'm essentially doing is writing an interactive novel with my friends - based upon the actions in game. While my focus is more on the actual writing aspect, I'm excited to create a basic game that I can mod to allow them to physically alter the story. Going to be a lot of work for me, but I think it's something neat to look back on. The story will fiction, but very close to a classic WWII theme - in fact, if the resources are there, a fictitious historical WWII story is fine by me. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction? I will devour tutorial videos, so I'm not too worried about physically creating the game - though pro tips are always welcome! So, any tips, links to applicable resources to use (most of the scenarios will be fighting, not so much peaceful interactions), or any ideas on how to implement such a game. My primary concern is just making the game look appropriate as the physical story I write is the important part (I'm excited because I know I'll script the game where players WILL die and have to create a new Private ranked recruit to start over with the same Army Company...but they won't know that they die in the story ;)
