Wulrakas, N'Nera, Cat, Daron ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Recap: A month long journey across the Azure Sea comes to a close as the Sea Dog heads for the Dwarven port village of Waverock. On the Godsday before arrival, however, co-pilot Pheo murders main pilot Siano after an altercation concerning a love triangle. Captain Evan Tarth seems indifferent to the whole affair, referring to Siano as a "heathen" before throwing his corpse overboard. Touching down at Waverock, Cat and Wulrakas go to explore the town. Meanwhile, an Elven druid of an obscure spider-worshiping tribe experiences a vision. She/He goes to investigate, while Cat and Woolie go to the local inn. The Elven druid, N'Nera, surveys the Sea Dog thinking it might hold some connection to her vision. She doesn't ascertain much, but he does manage to scare away the goblin chef while in seagull form. Taking flight shortly thereafter, she sees what appears to be the shadow of a giant spider looming over the inn. Upon entering, he, Wulrakas, Cat, and a human named Daron are eventually hired by a venerable old dwarf named Rockbelly. He tells them of a local thug, Mayzeth, who has been squeezing poor shop owners for coin they don't have. He offers the group 500 gold pieces to bring her to justice, dead or alive. Some investigation proceeds, with the party learning of a potential hideout for Mayzeth from Rockbelly's distant relative. They then scope out the building, with N'Nera sending in a rat after stone-shaping the granite walls to allow passage. A man across the street is later accosted, and he gives them a key to the hideout in hopes that they'll spare his grand daughter inside. More scoping out and deliberating. A group of drug-addicts seeking their fix from the hideout watch from afar. Eventually one enters, and a horrifying scream is heard by Daron and Cat. Wulrakas, against better judgement, charges in. N'Nera stone-shapes the back wall and bursts in with an invisible Cat. A battle commences; all of the dwarves and put down nonlethally, as is the Cambion Mayzeth. Cat eventually heals her, feeling bad for the devastating damage he did to her. Mayzeth proceeds to charm Woolie, who protects her from harm and gives her ample opportunity to dimension door through the ceiling and escape.
