LFG Never played but would like to learn Shadowrun

looking for a group of players to help a newbie get into shadowrun, i have never played any games like this, im very flexible with time. I live in the UK but am awake almost all hours and very motivated when it comes to learning things. please ask if you require any more info as im unsure what more to add here!
It is a good time to get into Shadowrun on Thursday the 11th the new 5th edition book will come out in pdf. I expect to see a few games pop up on here once that happens, you might as well start playing with the latest edition, plus with only one book a lot less information to absorb and fewer options for character creation is always more simple. http://www.shadowruntabletop.com/ http://www.shadowruntabletop.com/downloads/ The first link is the main website, the second to the preview samples of the new book. Not sure if I will get the book the day of release, but when I do get it shortly afterwards I plan on running a game will send you an invite, not sure if it will be just a one shot or the start of a campaign it will all depend.
Thats fantastic! ive been doing a lot of research the past few hours and am really enjoying the look, i watched a smal lparty play for abotu an hour also and it seems incredibly fun! thanks for the information! i will be purchasing a lot of tabletop books in the coming months as i plan to open a game store, so learning is very important to me! and again, thank you very much.
Your welcome. A heads up about opening your own store, do a lot of research before you do. A good place to start would be asking questions on the forums at rpg.net. Here is a forum about making games but the guys/girls over there can also give you real world experience about starting a store. http://forum.rpg.net/forumdisplay.php?10-Game-Industry-Shop-Talk I know it is tough right now from talking to local store owners and a friend tried and failed a few years back. Between the discount on books Amazon can offer often with free delivery, how popular rpg kickstarter programs are, places like, rpg drivethru , and people downloading books from torrent and file share sites, selling rpg books is pretty damn hard. Most stores do it because they love the hobby but they make their money from the comics and collectible card games.
ah the tabletops is a sideline idea as i will be opening an internet cafe with a focus on multiplayer and e-spot games. i have been a huge fan of various tabletops including magic the gathering, mage knight and her clix. so i am more than willing to accomodate those variety of games aswell. they most certainly arent going to be a big revenue as initially i never thought about selling rpg books. i was just gonna hire out a room for x hours at y price with free access to multiple systems books and maybe run a weekly intro session or something. thanks for even more info though! already loving this community. kinda deviating from topic haha its all helpful stuff though so i guess its worth it!
If you happen to set up that game I'd be interested in joining too. I had the pleasure of playing various systems with various groups of friends who also played Shadowrun but never got to do so myself, and if its just a PDF to pick up at 5th Ed release it seems straightforward enough.
Yeah the idea of trying it out when everyone is going to be somewhat new is appealing. Never tried Shadowrun before (unless the SNES game counts ;O).
hooray we have quite the interest! cant wait now :D
I'd like to say that Ive had an interest in shadowrun, but have yet to find people running games (Or a slot for a noob)
Hey, I can do Mon-Fri, 10am-4pm GMT and would love to get invlolved.
I'd be down to check out Shadowrun. I can do 4pm-10pm EDT. Don't have any experience with it but it seems like a cool game.
If this is going ahead and you have spaces I would love to play if the time is right :)
Me too! Please let me know, I'd love to join in, always wanted to get into Shadowrun, I'm very flexible w/ time.
I would like to learn Shadowrun to!
