Hello everyone! So, I'll be running a 5e game shortly here on Roll20 and will be looking for new players! However there's a lot for me to go over as what I'm looking for in players is rather high as far as my standards go. If I don't like you, you don't make it. If you annoy me as a player, you're out. Looking for groups online isn't always grand so I'm going to be very strict. To start off, I'm new to running on R20 and new to 5e. I have been running Pathfinder campaigns for years though and have extensively gone over the three books currently out for 5e (Monster Manual, Players Handbook, and Dungeon Masters Guide) however things will be missed so I don't mind looking up the books for anything that needs corrections. First off, I'm going to cover some of my immediate rules 1) Do not second guess me publicly, if you do, you're out, no second chances. You want me to double check something, Private message me. You say that out loud you're gone. 2) Don't complain. And no, I don't mean any minor complaint like "Oh my dice suck tonight" I mean actually whining, you do you go. 3) Voice is for roleplaying, text is for casual talking. If you're interrupting on voice a lot out of character you're gone. 4) Don't annoy me. If I tell you to stop something consider it your only warning. 5) You get 30 seconds - 1 minute to take your turn. If you're spending all your time on reddit and your turn comes around and you're confused that's to bad, take your turn or your character freezes and you are skipped. 6) Racists and Sexists need not apply. You're not welcome anywhere near me 7) Keep it mature. 8) There is no PvP. In fact, all characters must have an express desire to help the party. If you're being a scumlord to the party and disruptive you go. 9) Never discuss real world Politics, Religion or other Touchy subjects. I don't care about your opinions, few people will. If you and another player want to do so in private then do so. If I hear it, even if I agree, you're out. 10) I am law. Live with it or leave If you can't handle these rules then that's tough, do not apply Now we can move on to the game. The campaign I have in mind is going to be heavily influenced by the players and characters. There's no central theme, there is no one singular plot or goal. You guys will have your own goals and make your own plot. The world is basic, but will be fleshed out by the players as me and each player who makes the cut will get together one on one to discuss the following. 1) 3 Character Goals. They don't have to be some epic, world changing goal, just 3 things your character would want or like to do. 2) 5 People you character knows. It can be Family, Friends, Enemies, old Guildmates whatever, just 5 NPCs that may or may not appear in the story. 3) 5 Myths/Legends your character's heard of. Myths and Legends are abound and chances are high you're character has heard of at least 5. These can be Prophecies, Mythic Heroes, Great Beasts of Lore, Artifacts ETC. 4) 1 Character fear. 5) 3 Places your character has been. 3 places your character would like to go. 6) A satisfying character backstory. You don't need to write it up, you don't need a 5000 word document on it. But I need something to work with. I will accept the bare minimum to start if you like to wait to know the game better to adjust it. Note, though you will be making these notes for me not everything will be followed up on. Next is character creation. Characters can pick any Race/Class out of the Players Handbook. They will also receive the 27 point buy that is in the book. Any options you want that don't appear in the PHB can be discussed. If I say no, that's the end of it. Further pursual or complaints will get you removed. Further rules on character creation are as follows. 1) No silly/joke characters. If your character is ridiculous for the sake of being ridiculous it will be denied. I'm not saying you can't have comedy relief/goofy characters, you don't have to be totally serious, in fact it's preferred your not, but just don't be stupid. Example "my character is a large breasted angel rogue who uses a 2 handed weapon. Her only character trait is she's a sl*t" that's a no. 2) You may not even BEGIN making characters until the group has met in a group chat to discuss characters Race/Class, how the group met (Yes you must know each other before the game begin in game) and what the groups goals are as a whole. 3) None of your character may be evil or even slightly antagonistic to the rest of the party. I said it once an dI'll say it again. You character MUST want to work with the group and work towards each others benefits. If you're a barbarian and chop off a captives head because "It's what my character would do." you can leave, I don't want you. No stealing from each other, no assaulting each other, no trying to make fools out of each other ETC. It's ok to play a loner character, even one who's detached but when it comes down to the group you must ALWAYS fight for, and with the group. Lastly, when we'll be playing. We'll be playing at 11 CST on Sunday night, every other week, for a minimum of 4 hours but you must be able to player beyond 4 hours on a majority basis, this does not mean we will play beyond four hours constantly, but if we're in the middle of a combat and 4 hours has passed you should be able to finish it, if you really need to leave on time or early let me know immediately so I can run accordingly. I expect consistency, you get three missed games every few months or you're out. I understand life happens so I will alter this on a player by player basis but I'll only be so generous. Now, there is one caveat to all of this. I will only run this game if there is another who would like to run the other weeks. That GM's rules are his own and I will not force him to live up to my same rules in the least, though I would like both games to share the same group. With all of this said and done, all that's left is to meet any willing candidates. Feel free to PM me your skype information and I will come for you to discuss. I will be interviewing people every night from 11 CST+. This game will not be starting until, likely, October so keep this in mind. (I may start sooner though) If there's any questions make them below and I will be happy to answer.
