Undo and redo are completely borked

Something is seriously wrong with undo and redo on this site, in ways that I don't encounter elsewhere. Entire paragraphs have been lost to the ether. I'll lose lines at a time when I try to revert a minor edit I just made, and trying to redo won't bring them back. I've tried to remember to just not use those functions here, but muscle memory is hard to break out of. Additionally, I'm prone to (rarely, but often enough) accidentally bumping the ctrl key as I type; sometimes this just means opening up an menu accidentally, but it seems especially common when I'm reaching for the A key (possibly because of proximity). This leads to an accidental ctrl-A (select all) which I don't notice in time to stop typing and erases everything I've written. On literally every other site I use, this is easily fixed by a quick ctrl-Z, but not here. Whatever paragraph I was working on when it happened is gone for good (and it does seem to happen at paragraph breaks; for whatever reason). I once tried un- and redoing a few times to bring it back, and just lost even more text. This problem is, as far as I can tell, unique to this site. I'm running Chrome v. 44.0.2403.157 on Windows 7 Pro, SP1.
Is this on the forums or in game? Just want to clarify which one you are having issues with.
It's on the forums, sorry.
It's always been that way. I don't even bother using it. The whole chat formatting stuff here is clunky.

Although, I have always used the former (which I suspect is linked to the browser), I'll test the latter out and see if there's any improvement. Edit: Okay, testing complete. Ctrl+Shift+Z is superior.
