Hoard of the Dragon Queen: DM Question - Monsters as Pets/NPC? (SPOILERS for PLAYERS)

Wasn't sure where to post this question, but I thought here would be as good as any! I am DM'ing Hoard of the Dragon Queen, we are in the Dragon Hatchery at the moment. There is a pen of young Drakes in area #7 which one of the players was able to wrestle and collar a drake, in which he wanted to keep as a pet. At such a young age, I left the Drakes as unaligned, meaning they could be tamed as a pet. My question to any DM's out there, How can I determine how the drake will act? I know I can use my own discretion for the mannerisms, but was wondering if anyone has any suggestions to how to play the drake a an NPC? Thanks for any replies!
