george = favor with the sheriff skrillex = favor with magic shop store cluster The team broke into The wizard store from the roof... skrillex ended up earning Favor with the stripmall where the shop is located.  Folks love them some street music. After jabbing his foot into a beartrap, george ends up breaking in through the roof access and found receipts for The Mad Falcon's meth-boat, "The Bloody poodle" moored down at the piers.  Aboard they found moss and equipment for refining and processing the coke and potions.  They also found a well-hidden book written in Draconic, which no one on the team can speak but Skrillex knows of a colleague bard that works the region named, "Willard the Known".. he knows draconic. After promising Willard a favor, he made a copy of the draconic for himself and then common translation ... this is a book of recipes.  3 of them.  the coke recipe, and 2 others that they haven't fully comprehended yet. Willard connects the dots that the team is collecting evidence against The Mad Falconer and knows the Inquisitor sent by Varian has arrived to read his mind. Willard doesn't want anything to do with the Inquiisitor putting a warrant out for Willard to be hunted down.  He cashes in his favor by demanding the team turn in all evidence and leave Willard out of it. A quick Suggestion off Maheva's rude gestures has willard leaving town to get some distance, and freeing the  team up from having to be held accountable if they break favor.  They resolve to report all evidence to the sheriff to pass along to the inquisitor in exchange for Favor... george chips in a free rock ooze from the moss tunnels.   Turns out the Sherriff has a hankering for the Odd... he's got 4 talisman now that the team handed their two over.. he's also got a small array of unidentified magic gear that turns up on ships or explorers.  Dangerous, but worth remembering. Deciding to get some distance between themselves and The Inquisitor, the team decides to follow up on the little kids they helped get to town two days back.  At the ranch, one of the professional soldiers on campus deputized by the sheriff was already on the scene.. it was evident that there were 4 here and were attaacked by half a dozen human types.   the deputy was burning two bodies he said he found and encouraged them to hustle on ahead. Heading south, ranch and farm and ranch had the same horror scene.. no bodies.  a growing hoard of tracks moving south .. until one branches off towards a nearby silo.  More horde moving south fast, and some survivors trapped atop the nearby silo needing help...  Loper the Elf takes off brakes and kicks out to scout the hoard ahead while the rest of the team cleans up the local garbage.    quick comments... :P translate recipes for lolz  pissed off and suggested Willard away when inquisitor came to town handed over evidence to sherriff and he's got a total of 4 rune pendants plus a bunch of magic junkin his office. Catch up with the buzzard gang, got their moss put aside in abe's apt and sent them off to play with pirates away from the iquisitor. went to look at dead ranch and are now trailing a "zombie crawl" to 3 other ranches. the last one is recent and clustered around a silo where they think survivors are being seiged.
i think the name of the boat was "The Bloody Poodle" in honor of his vampire tart additions from notes: background info: - the area north and east of RB contains about 50 family homesteads of Yak farmers - RB town guard: 3 shifts, 7 guards + 1 Lt. per shift, total number hovers around 30 including Sherriff Grant + non fighting support staff - RB has 3 viable music venues: "The Broken Mast" (at the docks, pirate hangout) , "The Brewhouse" (biggest venue in town) and "The Laughing Dog" ( houses 45, staff of 5, stage available, has great cider - daytime boat count at the dock atm, 13 with 3 of them being out of towners (probably pirates, 2 squid style, 1 fancy tuna) - RB weapons carry permits require signing up at the Sherriff's , application for citizenry available but that requires pulling guard duty a couple of days a month gameplay: - 4 more beartraps found on The Bloody Poodle ... disarmed for search, then reset as a surprise for the next person in. Water elemental on board seem amiable and was informed that the mad falconer is going to be AFK for a while. Water elemental makes mention of an out of the way cove the Mad Falconer used to cook in - Loper finds one dissolving corpse in the moss cave and tracks leading down the north passageway with odd noises coming from it. going against Scooby Doo protocol he does not investigate and GTFOs instead. smart elf. have a cookie. - on his way back to RB Loper runs into The Vultures and convinces them to leave town because the heat is on and an Inquisitor is on the way. Loper and The Vultures stash the moss haul (which they don't know how to process anyway) in a cave on the way to RB, grab whatever loot they have and Loper convinces a Pirate ship to let them book passage to parts unknown (Tahiti ?) - The Inquisitor arrives in town riding a 20ft wyvern. the wyvern is a complete asshole and spends 22 hours a day either screeching, eating, shitting or stabbing everything around it with its tail, sometimes all of those at the same time. - The favor that's being traded in with Willard is that Skrillex takes over his gig while Willard and his lady make a hasty exit stage left towards Blood Crescent ... which also leaves Skrillex as the only bard in town - tracks from the original farmstead slaughter proceed south and bunnyhop from farmstead to farmstead in that general direction , 2 more are "raided" , tracks appear human and barefoot which initially suggest carrion tribesmen - last farmstead has a 12 vs 4 fight , one goes down , 3 flee into the cornfield and barricade themselves in a silo. herd splits even - 6 into the field, 6 continue south additional: - beartrap moment on a nat 1: Feng ... which so far is an even distribution across the group. crossing my fingers for ya, Skrillex.
