Hiding Dice Rolls from Roller

Hello, I recently ran into a problem with a player knowing what he had rolled on a secret roll. I had asked him to /gmroll his knowledge check, but the problem is that he knew he had rolled a 1, so he didn't trust any of the information I gave him. Now, I understand that I could have rolled for him, but there is a certain fun in making your own checks, which is why I generally don't roll for people. If there was some way for the player to roll, but not see his result that would be appreciated.

IIRC, I saw something here last week about setting a macro that a player still rolls their own dice, but the macro was set so that only the GM saw the result.  Trying to find it now.

Shepherds, we Moderators do not make the design decisions for Roll20, that is up to the Developers.  However, our duties do include moderating the forums and directing you to information you will find useful. Kristin was directing you to an existing thread on this topic rather than continuing a second thread and having the same discussion over again. It is better for users to contribute to the larger thread than make many smaller threads.  - Gauss
