Brief portions of these weekly sessions can also be found on Youtube with the same date code. FROM THE DESK OF THE DM This was one of those sessions, where the party did a tremendous job at taking charge of the situation, and, as an added bonus, the damage rolls made by the DM, even the critical attacks, were 1's and 2's. But I digress. It was nice to see a team at work, doing what they each do best, and contributing to the overall survival of the party, in this battle heavy mod. It should be noted that quite a few folks have leveled, and as soon as they all get back into town for some training, those extra perks will sure come in handy for what is to come. Be aware, these adventures are progressively becoming more and more complex and difficult, and it's that time when the rubber meets the road, and bad things are bound to happen. The only advice I can give, is be extra specially careful, and take every precaution possible, because when the chips are down, the party is going to need every conceivable benefit in their corner to be able to pull through all of this in one piece! QUICK READ RECAP The party decides to descend the stairs in the cemetery crypt after the killer tree battle. Squeezing through tight earthen tunnels, they take a northern, sloping passage to a ladder accessible, high vantage point, overlooking an circular moat room of giant weasels, orcs and their leader, who, after they engage them in battle, quickly turns them self invisible, only to re-appear some time later, while attempting to backstab the Gimbor the dwarf battlerager! All the while during this fray, other party members find themselves defending the party rear from an assault of giant crocodiles advancing up from the southern hallway! Bjorn climbs down ladder. Kell gets hit with two arrows for 12 hp of damage. Round 2 Gimbor jumps off the ladder, avoiding Kell, and driving both knees into a giant weasel for 7 hp of damage. Argo, Karmadel climb down the ladder. Leaxle notifies Serandon of impending crocodiles coming up from the southern tunnel. Crocodiles advance. Serandon shoots one for 13 hp of damage, then for 9 killing it instantly! Tralaan casts chromatic orb stinking cloud for 8 hp of damage killing an orc. I need updated spell points for spell casters. Please and thank you!
Everybody did a great job, I have to say. Also, take a look at Tralaan's contributions too! It's amazing the difference he makes when he's not afk !!
Absolutely. Tralaan made a bad situation manageable.

We have a few folks that are hurt in 'the sewer'. Metapower gaming, we also have a battlerager about to go off like a bomb. If we can get all our other people up the ladder while he's attacking the other orcs, perhaps we can get someone to cast 'rock wall' over the entrance next to the ladder. It may not hamper Gimbor from pounding on the stone after killing everything in the room -- at least it will allow the rest of the party (not currently fighting the crocs) to regroup and heal up. Then we take on the crocs and Gimbor (if necessary). Looking at the current map/character positions -- Gimbor is engaged (I think) with the dude who popped up and tried to stab him in the back. Bjorn and Balfon COULD hoof it up the stairs to the west. Maybe Karmadel since he's on that side of Gimbor though he's in armor that will slow him down. Kell may be a lost cause. Tralaan needs to get from the tunnel/ladder and run like heck -- even if it is toward the crocs. Karmadel might be in hot poodoo after tossing that silence spell at 'the now not invisible dude' since the area also includes Gimbor... which does not go over well with spikey types.

The argument can be made either way, if the silence spell cast near the end of this session was out of character, where the character didn't know how it would affect a battlerager, but where the player controlling the character did know, and thus the character would be unable to cast it with that purpose in mind, or , whether it was cast for the purpose of not having to listen to the dwarf and his singing. So, for either reason, Gimbor will still have to make a saving throw versus spell, then I'll have to make a wisdom check (with a penalty of course, seeing there are numerous spell casters in the general vicinity) to see if he can accurately deduce who did the deed. Would he know the difference between a cleric, a wizard, or a wizard that looks like a cleric? Would he impulsively act on potential misinformation if interpreted the wrong way?
And that's why YOU get the big DM bucks!

i just say we look at history and let that speak. when has Karmadel EVER cast silence to prevent casters in full armor who drink potions to go invisible from casting spells? or for that matter privately whispered his intentions on a turn to the DM? in addition to that, he said very clearly in the presence of another player (who can message DM privately to verify, or stay out of it; their choice) that as soon as Gimbor went into a rage, since only silence stops it, that was what he would do. of course he will deny as always, but again, lets let game play speak for him.
The two lines that address that had me thinking versus 'silence'. The way it's worded, it *kind of* seemed to imply that the spell had to be tossed BEFORE the battlerage went into full rage... since it 'prevents'. I got the impression from the reading that it's all academic once the battlerager is in full rage mode... it's too late, silent or not.
My spell points are used versus - total, already updated. As I used a memorized, i marked it used and updated the total.

Would Gimbor think a wizard can cast silence? I mean, if the Kit is aware of the spell, and has (effectively) a readied action about such, it would go to reason that it also has an understanding this is a Priest spell, relatively low, involves prayer to the god.. .yada yada. As I understand it there are two priests in the group, only one of which is (I believe) in the combat area. > Tralaan should be safe, I'd think, because he's not a priest, nor has the regiment of one. > Faernor should be safe (as stated before) I suppose Argo could be at risk because the build allows him to wear armor, which is more priest like, than it is mage. But... I don't envy Karmadel. If he did center it on Gimbor, THEN Gimbor gets a save, failure means it would be 1 ft behind him, he's (Gimbor) is still silenced. I REALLY appreciate the spell, and I nod in agreement, it does seem to be metagaming - OoC knowledge being used. That's DM zone, and since he says "Play Ball," that's how that cookie crumbles. Just means we have that option as now and forever available as a tool to redress the frenzied tumbleweed of death. I sense an A-Team - BA Baracus being drugged to fly - montage coming out of this. (and I'd suggest that the if we know that's going to happen in the future that the round before, Karmadel gets the ring of Invisibility so Gimbor can't find him (as easily))
You guys are incorrigible you know that I swear to the greater gods above. You know that the town is swarming with critters and yet you stick your necks out for the council, time and again! All I can say is the reward had better be worth all this risk *sighs* oh well. I hope you enjoy your last moments before the battlerager kills you all lol
I say we take over the business from them... MUHAHAHAHA

Hang out a shingle that reads "Wrecking Ball, Inc." , "Monster Extermination Services, LLC" or "Critter Cleaning Corp", etc, then wear stylized ghostbuster-esque uniforms and most definitely have a catchy theme song.
This same party managed to sink a 'loaned' ship before practically setting off bombs on the doorstep of the underwater temple they were supposed to 'sneak & peek' around. Subtle is not part of their vocabulary... or actions. It is a mystery how the warcow has survived this long tagging along.
ok guys with computer Issues i'm looking at 1 maybe 2 weeks before i get back in. The leak was the O ring in a 45 degree fitting on the radiator to the Reservoir on the return loop. It's going to be an easy fix, but having to Drain the system, and then remove a few parts, put the tubing in, then put parts back in just means its a work lol. so 1 to 2 weeks before i get back. i can't order parts till Wednesday. but after i do order then they'll be shipping over from the EU(denmark) so it can take 1 week to get here or 2 weeks. but i'll keep you guys up to with whats going on.

Fun as in -- the stealthy elves cringing and cursing under their breath as folks in plate clang down hallways and dwarves are yelling and singing and smoking stoogies 'in stealth mode'? Or looking down a dark tunnel and seeing a conga line of overly large croc creatures with many many teeths charging your way -- and all you have is a sliver of metal and a prayer? Orcs trying to sign their name in your back with crossbow bolts? Giant weasels seeing if 'up the butt' is an expression or a valid military tactic? Visiting a temple sewer 'just to see if it smells'? Actually... come to think of it... we did spend a lot of time laughing that night.

watched the whole game on youtube, to learn your guys's play style
*facepalm* Watch us to learn what NOT to do!!!!!!! Semi seriously, cool. Sometimes it takes a while but a bunch of odd people can mesh and have some chaotic but fun adventures. Other times, we bicker like an old family... so, have a double of chill pills handy... or your preferred selection of fermented/brewed beverages.
@Modnar Wylde It's the best desktop replacement laptop I've ever owned. New they were $4500. It's a workstation, so it's geared for graphic intensive software like AutoCad, Solidworks, etc. Mine has a backlit keyboard, webcam, 4 SSD hard drives, a blueray burner and a 17.1" touchscreen with pen for photoshop. Since they started putting the power of a desktop in a laptop decades ago, I have never since bought a desktop and have never regretted the endless problems that they create. @Arash G. Are you serious? You watched the entire 6 hour youtube session?!?! OMG! Dude, you're over the top!
I was mostly studying for college while listening to it, and watching the main parts and the ones i found interesting.
i have a play style? lol

Thank you. This posting has been updated to reflect that new spell point level. As soon as I get everyone else's numbers, it will save us from having to do the bookkeeping first thing next session during game play.
DM4HIRE said: I need updated spell points for spell casters. Please and thank you! Ah I see. BREAKDOWN: 12 spent on actual castings so far [free magick cast cost of 8, and a 1st level memorized cost of 4] ...with 8 (2 first) + 6 (1 2nd) +10 (1 3rd) = 24 more reserved for memorized.) OR at total of 36 out of 97 spent.
I have no spells xD
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8... This is the machine I am saving for. And if all goes according to plan I should be there for the game this Saturday night. I will confirm on Friday. I can't wait to shoot some orcs, ants, angry mutated dolphins or radiated platypi with some arrows via Serrandon.
It will be good to have you back! Serandon -- even as an NPC, has saved our butts more than a few times these last few weeks.
ok i'll be back next saturday parts are ordered.

@Charles : Great to hear from you! The links I put up above are nearly all of that for $600. Check out the specs. In the past I had nothing but problems with Asus products. Ask Chris, he can tell you all about it with his Asus gaming laptop.
