Hex Map

I utilize hex mapping in my systems, and I was wondering if we could convert the base map to hex?

The map has 3 types of grids. It has vertical hexes, horizontal hexes, and squares. While it is true that the default grid is square, it is not hard to change it to hex and most games are square gridded by default.
I think I get what he's saying. I would like to be able to change the default settings for new pages as well. Units, size, grid type, etc. so instead of being 25x25 with squares at 5 ft per square, it could be 50x50 with hexes at 30 miles.
Yes I like the idea of modifying the base map so when I am creating content it does not require a great deal of figideting with.

Jarret and Illian, you can change all of that in the page settings. Click on the blue icon to the top right corner of the map. Hover over the map you wish to change. Click on the settings icon. From there you have a variety of features to play with including: Page size, type of map (square, hex(V) or hex(H)), and unit size. If you need any help let me know Note: if I misunderstood and you are actually asking about permanently changing the default settings for every map when it is created we have a tool for that too. Set up one map and then duplicate it. Click on Page Toolbar, then hover over the map you want duplicated. Click the right hand duplicate button and it will duplicate the settings of the map to a new map.  - Gauss

Not sure how hard it would be to setup so that the board creator can set the default prior to creating the board. The Dev's would know probably but implementing that would be rough. They have it defaulted to a general settings in the code itself so to do what you are suggesting would probably need to make a UI section for creating a board. There would be alot of stuff to work with. There would have to be the following A section for the creation of the board  in the detail section that would contain Map size box : (unit) by (unit) scale box : (size) by (rating - ft, meter, etc..) Grid (checkmark) enabled: Size (# ) units etc.. Another word the map settings would have to be outside the board in the detail page area.  It is do able but is it that hard to fidget with the map setting after you go in? If I know what type of map I'm going to be working with constantly, I make one base blank map page and duplicate it as needed. I'm not being sarcastic or anything, just trying to understand. It is a good idea but not sure how workable it would be (I'm a student that is taking Computer Information Systems in College but haven't started my programming classes yet.).
All good and well, thanks for the input. I was inquiring as to having a setting that would save to a campaign profile or some thing similar so I could better organize the modifications and templates. However, the creation of a base map and duplication is an execelent work around for my issue that my not require a default setting.

I just found out that the duplication of the map will only do the settings and such but not the maps or the contents  Quoting Sarah A (Mod) : duplicating the page only duplicates the settings of the page, not everything that is on it, sadly.
