Session 16 Log

10/15 4 of us head off to the Dawny Deravit, Pirate bar. Joseph and Rod head off to the fight club, Entropy's End. Rod and Joseph head in and he was looking at signing up for a fight...and finds out that he's already signed up tomorrow...and fought yesterday. He heads to the bar to ask how to sign up. The bartender sends him over to Drodo. Drodo, an 8 limbed dralasite, is the fight master. Rod approaches him and asks to prove himself so that he can fight. He directs him to a practice dummy and says to knock its head off...and fails miserably. Rod says his martial arts doesn't lean to striking, so Drodo is going to grapple him as a test. Rod was able to shake him off. Drodo asks for another try, to be sure it wasn't luck. Rod does even better. Drodo asks him to try and pin him, but even with his best efforts, Rod just can't get him down. Drodo is going to put him in with some starter fights. He asks about the false Rodworth and is waiting to see him fight before he signs up. <fade to Pirate Bar> We arrive at the Dawny Deravit and scan the bar. It looks like an 80's bar...technomusic, lasers, fog machines...etc. We see 16 guys dressed plainly, but all have a similar tattoo (dralasite face with a comet coming out of the mouth). They also have energy weapons, all of them. They are looking at a table, where 4 guys are playing a card game with a Vrusk child. The kid has a frog in front of him. The other 12 guys are rooting for the 4 players, but no one is around the vrusk kid. He has a wire mounted into his antenna with a cyberware throat mike that connects to a chronocom. We split into two teams, to have different perspectives on the table. Eusyl takes a pic of the kid as he heads to the bar. The kid is an amazing poker player. He "knows when to hold'em...knows when to fold'em". They want his frog, but he won't part with it. Once they start cheating, he decides to quit. The players draw weapons and says that he can't quit. They offer to buy the frog...he comes back with 100k...or the location. The card player says he's got to call his boss. He says he'll have the money but it won't be when the kid wants it. He says he'll be back tomorrow and leaves. We follow the kid to the monorail and start a conversation. We find out the kid is just an expendable relay. We talk to "The Rabbit" and find out what the frog is...a camera. It's loaded with a bunch of important pics. The contents are what are truly important. After discussion, we're going to assault the ship, the Vomit Comet, while the crew is off the ship. We ask the Rabbit if he can spare a pilot, he can, and he's flying us to the ship. We arrive at the ship. While planning the ship assault, a yazirian kid calls our pilot and says that he's hacked the ship and we're good to get inside. We know there are 5 people on the ship. One is in a workpod working on an engine. Yaz and Eusyl head to the maintenance deck while the rest of us move through the crew deck and up to the bridge. We take out a dralasite engineer on the bridge and find out that the captain is in his quarters on the crew deck. We find his cabin and attack. Rod shoots him with an electrostunner, but the captain has an AS implant. Bal jumps in and hits him with his electric sword, nearly killing him. Rod puts him in the pretzel hold and we get the location info we need, do a quick scavenge run and leave the ship. As a simultaneous happening, Yaz and Eusyl grab the tech from the returning workpod, stun/dose him so we can get away scot free. <fade to black for 2 weeks>
Oh, god, we kinda forgot in the heat of making real cash; what about the liner? Is there any way we could retcon checking for that?
I actually would like us to hack their computer to see what information they may have about the liner. Also i have a plan on how to follow up on the Pan Galactic bombing. With the influx of cash to our daily expenses. Why don't we hire Pan Galactic cleaning crews to clean up the bottom two levels of the base. That way we can casually ask the workers what they know of the bombing. At best we uncover a new lead, worst case we clean up first and second levels of the base for future use.
If I'm understanding our company agreement, we now have 8333 credits (not styrigi) plus about 750 str. What's the conversion rate?
1 cr = 1 str Scott says that they're the same, but styrigi are only good here. Credit use is frowned upon on Styrigia.
yes but our living expenses just got 50,000 credits, so we can only eat so much steak off naked slave girls.. may as well  use the funds advance our investigation and clean up the base...
Are we able to go to the Space Station? Could we shop there? Are we on good terms with the Malthar (sp)?
just jacking a pirate ship may make our shopping trip a bit short lived.
XP to date ?
I just knew I'd been forgetting to check one of my websites... and I find 21 messages waiting for me. Sorry folks, no retcons. There were several combat encounters on that ship that you conveniently side-stepped. For example, nobody even looked into the computer room. You missed some (possible) information, but you also missed some possible death and dismemberment... and a possible change in the "plot" for one of the NPCs. We can't really retcon to get more information from those sources there without seriously messing with prior events. New XP totals: +1 everyone that was expected to be on time was on time +1 log ?? creativity +3 bonus for a mission finished... even if you aren't quite sure what it was all about The new total: 114 (from last week) + 5 = 119 xp
