Is there a maxinume number of players allowed in one game session. I want to know if i can get 8 players and a GM in one session without any problems. we will not be using any video cams.
There is no hard restriction on the number of players joined in a Game. There is a limit on the number that can be using the built in audio/video, but I believe that number is much higher than your numbers (16 or 24 or so?).
From my experience things get pretty hairy when you pass 12, lag, dalek voices etc. this may have been caused by some people using older slower machines, I regularly have 8 including me with no problems, you should be fine.
