Zoom not working in Chrome on Linux

July 25 (12 years ago)

I'm using Chrome Version 28.0.1500.71 on Fedora 18 (Linux 3.9.10-200.fc18.x86_64 #1 SMP Sun Jul 14 01:36:53 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux). When I click on the zoom the it presents the menu with 100% showing. Clicking on the 100% just closes the window. It never shows the rest of the menu to change size. If I hold the alt key and use the mouse wheel it appears to appears to work (it zooms out the entire contents of the map but doesn't stay focussed on where it was.

I've seen this posted as an issue in previous posts that auto-closed after two months. Are they any plans to fix this?

It Works in Firefox, that Means I have to keep a Firefox Window just for Roll20 (this where a second screen comes in handy).

The zoom issues in Linux are known.  I'm afraid I don't have an ETA on a fix for it at the moment.

Any further updates on this? I've just started investigating Roll20, and hit this problem (Chrome on Ubuntu). Thanks.

That zooms everything, not just the map. The chat window and icons become unreadable if you do that.

That would be Ctrl + mouse wheel.
Alt + Mouse wheel is different. Unless there are settings in your computer that are non-standard.

Alt + Mouse wheel is indeed different, it changes the transparency of the window. It would be much easier if the menu selection just worked. So, whilst I appreciate the attempt to suggest workarounds, does anyone know whether the basic issue is one that is likely to be fixed?

It has something to do with the way that Linux handles its windows. I'll take another look at fixing it here shortly, but honestly we'll probably be changing the way that zoom works soon anyway.
