Chat log doesn't display the chat properly (But the "View all chat entries for this game" does)

Good day. I was playing around with them sweet macros when suddenly the chat froze.&nbsp; <a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/2552273/chat-log" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/2552273/chat-log</a>... was of little use. When I clear the chat and type something else, it returns where it originally froze. Furthermore, when I click on the option " View all chat entries for this game " at the top of the chat, the archives display whatever roll I tried to do since. As it is right now: When I "Clear Current Chat Log": And then if I hit "F5", notice how the initiative checks show. Also, as soon as I type/roll ANYTHING, it goes back to the first picture (hiding the initiative rolls). Here's the "view all chat entries" since that bug: Note that it goes on for a while.

Step by step instructions on how to reproduce the issue. I am unsure how it happened in the first place, and to test it so I can know how it reproduce requires the bug to be removed in the first place. There's 3 errors according to the log, one of which is: Uncaught Error: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: #sheet-rolltemplate-pf_generic {{character_name=A Dretch My guesstimate, and I know it ain't worth much, don't mention it , is that it is still trying to resolve a faulty macro. Thus it cannot display whatever follows.

Occasionally, Roll Templates will cause the text chat to break in the way you've described. Clearing the chat archive seems to usually remedy this. I'd recommend backing up your chat archive beforehand.

Try Silvyre's suggestion of clearing the chat archive first. If that doesn't work, next up is the troubleshooting guide. Before we dive into the guts of the issue, we're going to need you to do a few things for us, things that sometimes fix issues for users before more extensive troubleshooting is needed. Can you please follow Steps 1-3 of our Solving Technical Issues checklist (confirm you're using the latest non-test version of Firefox or Chrome; turn off all extensions, addons, and anti-virus; and clear your cache) to see if one of those components is causing the problem? We can only help if we can recreate your issue, so it is important that you follow each step. If doing that fixes the issue, just let us know. Otherwise, you've already completed Step 4 , and a dev will be by to assist you.

Silvyre's suggestion solved the issue. Back to testing stuff 'till it breaks. Firstly that macro that began it all. I'll know once and for all if it is it that causes the problem.
