Top Down VS. Side View

I feel like a Lurker at the Threshold at this point, but I'm having a real tough time, deciding on whether to continue making a Token Set, using a profile view, or going with - what seems like the more popular (and functional) Top Down View. I REALLY like the ability to add character to the tokens, when I can draw the whole thing - but don't want my players to feel hampered tactically, because I went with this perspective. Here's POLLY(watermarked) - for my budding Call of Cthulhu game: Can anyone comment on their preference, or their lack thereof?  Should I press forward?  Or rethink this? Edward

I prefer the top down view for the tokens and portrait style for the avatar on the sheet.

I like both top down and portraits for tokens.  - Gauss
I make these pseudo 3D tokens^^ The base fills up their top-down square, and they stand tall and expressive! I am not a fan of giant face-pogs trouncing around a map. EDIT: That particular token is just a sample that uses some Wayne Reynolds art.
