So i made my first D&D character so im gonna just gonna post it here so you guys can fix it and tell me how stupid I am. Race: Dwarf Class: Cleric(battle cleric ill explain later) Name: Deek(placeholder) Sex: yes please (Male) Height: 3ft 10 in(short even for a dwarf) Alignment: neutral good Worshiper of Moradin(will be important later) I read to roll 4 D6s for stats ignore the lowest number S-15 D-6 C-18 I-16 W-15 Ch-11 Can speak common, dwarf, and gnome Ok so those are the stats and those all seem right to me. Then i started writing his backstory with a little help from google to see what kind of backstory guidelines i had to follow. Deek is a 43 year old male with black hair and a long beard. He is the stereotypical dwarf, other than his shorter than normal stature, until you get to his eyes. They are piercing green with two gold dots and appear to glow. These special eyes allow him to see 100ft in the almost perfect dark as opposed to most dwarves 60ft. When he was young he joined the Battlesmiths. He trained with them from age 10 to age 26. While he was a part of the battlesmiths he became a fine armour and weaponsmith. He specialized in weapons of great weight and power. He became connected to many great battlesmiths and many of his colleges are in his debt. But with all of this attention he also made a few enemies. But many of them stopped hating his fame and skill when they saw him in the ring. He was the best hand to hand fighter in his group but in a weapon fight he was almost useless. yet this was not enough to drive him from the battlesmiths. He was good enough with a war hammer and battleaxe that he could front line for them and mow down hordes of orcs and goblins. At 26 a passing cleric from the temple of Moradin came to the barracks. As a great worshiper of Moradin who Deek thinks of as the greatest of all the gods(many of the gods would dispute this. This may cause trouble later) He went to to the cleric. The cleric, who was impressed by this boys devotion to Moradin, invited Deek in. They sat down and talked for a while and then the cleric offered Deek wine. Not wanting to be rude Deek accepted the wine but purified into water (im not sure that's how it works but screw it i needed some way to make the cleric see him using cleric powers so might as well reverse Jesus this) Deek often did this to people who were trying to get him drunk, or trying to beat him in a drinking competition, so he had no thought that anyone else might know what he did. The cleric jumped up and instantly started to accuse him of being another cleric here to fool him and try to get him to speak ill of Moradin. So Deek took him to the head commander who explained that Deek had been in their service for 16 years. The cleric the profusely apologized and offered to take Deek back to the Temple(monostary, church, whatever) Deek said goodbye to the Battlesmiths and went to become a cleric. After 17 years of training Deek had mastered the basics of cleric spells and could read and speak in the magical tongue (whatever it may be for the adventure we are on) He left the Temple and set out to spread Moradoins word throughout the world. Ok that was a bit of a read but all thats left is equipment and money. Money: left the monistary with 2 gold has to make the rest from adventuring or clericing(whatever that might entail) Armor and shield: Currently equipped with chain armor and a long shield made of steel(the shield is 5 inches shorter than he is) Weapons: Primary weapon is a Warhammer made out of steel with the words Moradin is law written on both ends and the book of moradin(their bible) encased in a diamond sphere in the center. The magic that the book has been enchanted with over the 17 years by all of his teachers and any other magical beings he met causes runes to blossom all over the head of the weapon some causing devastating effects in battle others merely sprouting flowers on his opponents heads but most are just useless words like bread or grapes, or even passages from the book of moradin. This weapon was forged by himself and he holds it even more valuable than his life and upon his death(his final death) it is to be returned to the sanctuary as the true power of Moradin in this era. NOTE: This weapon does not need to be started with but at some point in the campaign it is needed to be forged with the Moradins book he keeps on him during his travels His secondary weapon is nowhere near as impressive it is a 2 handed battle axe that he can swing with 1 arm but he puts the hammer on his belt and the shield on his back to wield it. It is inlaid with the word determination and Deek. It takes him 30 sec to toss his shield on his back and his hammer on his belt and draw the axe and a full minute to equip the hammer and shield again. He has 1 more emergency weapon on him always. A dagger given to him by a mage. It has the word burn on it and when it is stabbed into them it will ignite. It can only ignite 10 times before becoming a normal dagger though(was not the best mage ever) Ok i know that was a long ass read but did i do good D&D pros or is he too op or stupid
