Date: 6th-20th Harvester 609 CY Attendance: Wulrakas, Cat, Virgil, Alena (2nd part) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Recap: Realizing that they've overstayed their welcome in Waverock, the party finally departs from the coastal dwarven city. They split into two groups to cover more ground; N'Nera, Darron and Alena head out first, followed by Cat, Wulrakas, Virgil and Tawnee. They all get caught in a violent storm shortly thereafter. The first group seeks refuge in a cave after disposing of some wolves; the second group is joined by a strange traveler named Elmer Jud, and they hunker down in an old, leaky shack. There they play some games to pass the time before turning in for the night. Wulrakas dreams of a large dragon being ridden by Elmer, who tells the Dragonborn that he must answer for his crimes. He's eaten within the dream and he awakens feeling physical pain. Once the storm has passed they continue towards Crow Town, eventually reconnecting with the first group. Wulrakas hears many voices in Draconic during this trip, though he cannot make out what they are saying. Finally he is able to understand one, a disembodied voice calling for him to head into the Dreadwood. He does so, covering several miles before finding a small cabin in a glade. There he meets a strange kobold, supposedly talks to his father (an ancient dragon and grandson of Bahamut), and then retrieves a magical sword from a stone nearby. He slays a Wyvern singlehandedly and returns to the group. More days come and go. Finally they reach the outskirts of Crow Town . Here they set up camp at begin to ruminate over what is to come. While Elmer goes to gather kindling, however, Tawnee brings up her suspicions: that the man is not who he seems. After rifling through his backpack they find a vague note demanding Wulrakas' head. When confronted, the man denies ever knowing about the letter. Some magical suggestion by Cat reveals he's telling the truth, to a certain extent. He doesn't know about the letter but he was planning on robbing -- and killing, if it came to it -- the group all along. They let him go in peace. However, just as they're about to pack up and head into Crow Town, a large shadow passes over them. Before they have time to react a huge green dragon lands in front of them. She speaks to Wulrakas for a while, but she is suddenly overcome by some phantom force. Her eyes become black. She attacks mercilessly. Wulrakas is felled and nearly dies, but he is just barely stabilized by Virgil's magic. Tawnee is killed and eaten, revealing her true form -- a Night Hag -- to Cat just before being devoured. As the group flees towards the gates of town, the dragon swoops down and goes for one final breath attack.
