It is assumed that you spend 8 hours resting at night, which allows you to recover 1 hp per level per day and 1 point of ability damage for each affected ability score. If you spend a full day of downtime resting in bed, you recover another 1 hp per level per day and another 1 point of ability damage for each affected ability score. Travel rest brings exhausted characters to fatigued after 8 hours and fatigued characters to normal after 8 hours. Using downtime in addition to a nights rest will remove both exhaustion and fatigue from a character (it gets shifted twice) Forced march must make a CON check to avoid becoming exhausted Fatigued characters may not forced march to travel. Fatigued characters who travel must make a CON check to avoid becoming exhausted Exhausted characters cannot travel and must rest to remove the condition Magic may be used to grant good rest during travel. Inns provide good rest as well if there is one in a hex. Good Rest You can use downtime to rest and recover. It is assumed that you spend 8 hours resting at night, which allows you to recover 2 hp per level per day and 2 point of ability damage for each affected ability score. If you spend a full day of downtime resting in bed, you recover another 2 hp per level per day and another 2 point of ability damage for each affected ability score. Exhaustion and Fatigue removed. +2 on checks to remove afflictions (disease, curse, poison etc) Inns, houses (bedrooms) and magic(spells and items) provide good rest.
