What they are: Story Awards are things that help determine the plot for the guild. You earn Story Awards by going on missions. Story Awards and the presence or absence of them will change how certain things function during the mission and may unlock new plots, stories, missions and NPCs. Kinds of Story Awards: There are four types of story awards. Completion: These Story Awards show you have completed a certain mission in a specific way. Ex: Favor of the Masters Rewards: These Story Awards give a very specific award. These awards can be used a specific number of times. Ex: Shade Coin Unlocking: These Story Awards unlock a particular mission, plotline, or series of missions for the guild. Ex: Meet the Stranger Artifact: These Story Awards show that your character has taken party in the recovery of a very powerful item. Ex: Crystal Sphere So... will you tell us what they do?: The DM will tell you what the Story Award does at the time you get it. If you forget send that DM a message. I am not going to put what exactly each one does for Spoiler reasons. Not Always Good: Not all the Story Awards are good things. Most of the ones at the beginning of the Arcs are neutral, however some of them are bad. Part of the fun of ongoing adventures is owning up to your failures. None of the negative story awards will harm your fun . They will just change how good or some things happen. All of the Story awards that are exclusively negative do have a way of getting around them and permanently removing them. What If we Have Different Ones? There will be multiple run throughs of many of these adventures. As such, you will find that some people have different story awards in different amounts. Some Story Awards will take effect on the entire group if only one person has it. Some Story Awards will take effect only if the group has more of them than others. Just make sure you let the DM know what story awards you have at the start of the mission. Include only Story Awards from that particular arc (For example the people in Chult don't really care what happens in Urmlaspyr) unless you as a player think it is going to be really relevant to the mission.
