In the beginning there was nothing. Not the absence of space. Not the darkness in the night. Not the silence of the dawn. No, the nothing before the something. The pause before the first breath of life. The moment before the first. And then it all was. Everything. The infinite. The Great Beyond. Every moment, every action, every memory, every lie and every truth. But all of everything is also unfathomable and empty as nothing. And then THE CREATOR was. THE CREATOR saw what was and gathered it all. THE CREATOR contemplated for an eternity and then began. THE CREATOR started with the Outer Planes and Demiplanes. Experimenting and learning along the way. Sometimes THE CREATOR made wonders and other times THE CREATOR made abominations. Worlds beyond imagination. Where the fabric of reality unwinds. THE CREATOR saw what existed and was not satisfied. These worlds were void and static. So THE CREATOR made the gods. Deities of all sizes, shapes and forms. Long-living gods. Gods that only exist in moment between a heartbeat. The deities, celestials, fiends and other outsiders immediately began to quarrel. Out of this flotsam, alignments and factions emerged. The concepts of good/evil, and of order/chaos were conceived. This war has raged for as long as the Outer Planes have existed. For eons factions of good would be triumphant. And then for just as long allies of evil would rule with ruthless dominion. Then the force of order would overthrow but eventually chaos would violently emerge. This ebb and flow continues even to this day. THE CREATOR grew tired of this monotony.
