s2 e7 - the dwarf and the giant with plans in place, the team heads to the dock-side tavern to recruit the bravado priates to discover they had headed out already on their own last night to get a jump on the bounty ahead of our heroes... the team junks out to see what harm has been done to find the pirate junk seized, 14 pirates dead with only one remaining alive.. who's been tortured to incapacity by Hulic. not to be further delayed, the team saunters out to work the circle with hulic as usual but he's noticably tense.. after attempts to poison the dwarf with local beer, it seems apparent the dwarf is not trusting the team as usual... being very open with the history of his clan, their new homes, his family-- probably to make it more difficult to kill him if he's really aware of what's happening. After a short while the orc picks up on a squidship heading to kashakant.. potentially to resolve troubles-- when Feng gets there the squidship is in hostile negotiations for the remainig hostage, return of the bodies and captured junk... when the hostage is brought out an accident gets him killed (nail to the head via faceplant stumble) and sets off a fight that the orc quickly takes to the priates' ship deck A quick parlay later has the squidship on the way back with Feng to the sherriff to confirm the truth of the dwarf being a bounty... the pirates agree to help and fly back to kashakant to catch the dwarf out. the sherriff lends a magic item that turns out to be a rod of true seeing created by a devotee to the Temple of the Devourer. through the vision of True Sight into the spirit world, it can be seen a storm rising around the entire continent of the Demon Wastes.. very foreboding. 8 pirates hiding under a camoflauge tarp, one orc exposed in eberron while Issah and maheva are still in the spirit world with Hulic... the dwarf steps to everron to pick up the orc when he's stabbed twice by the babarian's sword... surviving the attack, the dwarf warlock drops the Rage Beast into battle and backs away from the warrior... the pirates panic as the Rage Beast draws near, retreating behind the barbarian as Issah opens up with magic missles and massive force damage. the dwarf finds he cannot step sideways and is battered down quicly and then turned into a Coup De Grace practice dummy. with the orc in eberron, the humans stuck in the spirit world, they ask for Havoc's help who has 3 days delay. Feng collects favor for the bounty with the pirates and gives the rod of True Seeing to the new priest of Devourer that has come to purge the hiding heretics and guide the community back onto the path of fering / reverence for he Devourer before it destroys everyone. Once Havoc arrives at kashakant he offers a ritual to sidestep into the spirit world (DC 20, 50 minutes to perform) And is given the updates on Friendfell and the now=dead Hulic. Havoc advises that the Titan HAS to rise to help slumber The Devourer who is awakening Below.. hreatening to rise and consume all of Khorvaire. Worse news: Poodle is excavating into orc burieal grou8nds to uncover a 3rd Titan to possibly control or to maybe just unleash. Havoc suggsts leaving Kashakant to Varias and the coven, havoc to Poodle's actions, and offers favor with the Gatekeepers to resolve Friendfell. level 8: 1/3 complete. current task at hand: get Droaam military away from Friendfell and put a stop to the liquid evil filling the TitanShield.
