3 players looking for DnD 3.5e group and GM

Hello everyone, ItMeJP's DnD campaign has really inspired me to return to PnP after a absence of more than 10 years. I checked with some friends and they are game as well. I think 5 players would be a good number, so we have slots for 2 more folks that want to play. If noone else wants in, we can start with the three of us and then others can join in as we go along. Speaking for myself, I am open to playing with folks new to PnP, just no Abigael characters please =P So far we have me as a Cleric and my friends as a Paladin and a Bard. So, if you are not familiar with the DnD universe, the inclusion of a Paladin prohibits basically any mischief (Even if you pull it off behind his back, if it comes out later, he would have no choice but to kill you, depending on the severity of the transgression). So we are looking for any Good aligned players. Again, speaking for myself, what I want most out of this game is the story/immersion factor, so if you get bored of long conversations this might not be the group for you. Not that we are just going to talk each others' ears off, this is DnD after all! Faces will be smashed aplenty, I promise. We are looking for an exceptionally long game, from level 1 till the characters are either all killed or die of old age. We are looking for a weekly game, Saturday evenings or Sunday morning/afternoon. Timezone: GMT+2. Some level of voice communication is a must I think, basically anything being acceptable unless it's known spy/malware. Up to this point the post might have been misleading, so let me just state for clarity's sake: We do not currently have a GM and are in the process of looking for one. Please let us know if you want to dedicate the next year or so of your life to some random strangers on the internet xD That's it for now I guess. Good luck and have fun =)
Hey! You posted in my thread a few moments back. I would be interested in participating, like i stated back in my post however, im a total newcomer. Would be cool if we could exchange Contactinformation or the like, personally im using Skype: stuebi0193 But if you prefer something else, we could do that as well.
Hey guys, can't say I would care to DM, but I wouldn't mind hopping in as a 5th player if you still need one. I have been looking for a campaign for Saturday/Sunday. I am GMT-6, but joining you Saturday evening would be very easy for me since I could just play during the whole day. Let me know if you guys wouldn't mind me. :)
We just got a GM! Seriously stoked =) When we have worked out all the details, I will let you guys know times, etc, and then we can see who wants in. Till then, have fun!
I would love to join! I would be willing to play pretty much any thing, have SOME experience as a fighter, would love to try out a wizard! Let me know if you would like to have me :D
Sounds cool, hoping to hear back from ya.
Ok guys, it took me a while to get everything sorted, but the time has come >;) We are having our first session this Saturday evening, the exact time still not solidified, but it will be either 7pm to 10pm GMT or GMT+2. Do not worry if you cannot make the meetup this Saturday, I'm sure we can work you in on session 2 the following Saturday. Ideally we need to coordinate with you before your first session to create your character so the actual session can be wholly dedicated to gameplay. We will be playing on Roll20 and using Skype for voice communication. I've gotten a lot of responses (a LOT of private messages), so I need to put down some criteria to help me make choices. 1) Please make sure you actually want to play the game, not just checking it out. We want to be a dedicated group. We are still open to new players, we just want to make sure this isn't a passing fancy for you and that you won't disappear after a few sessions. This is very important. 2) You need to be a team player. We won't always agree on all the decisions in the game, but someone who actively plots against or steals from the others won't last long in this group. We have a lot of healing, tanking and buffing in the group as it is. We need damage potential. Ideally, we would like to have either a Wizard or a Sorcerer and a Barbarian for the last slot. So; Slot 1 = Wizard or Sorcerer. Slot 2 = Barbarian. This isn't set in stone, we can discuss it, but that is what we think will be the best team makeup. Please let me know if you are still interested.
If I join up, I guarantee I will remain as a long term player. As for my character, I would be willing to play either a dragonfire adept or a sorcerer for the blasting role. I would prefer the adept though. 7:00 GMT+2 works out to noon my time, so I will have no issues attending every week.
Yup, Would love to be a Barbarian please ^^ I don't have any plans for weekend evenings and I do not work (yet ) so we should be fine. Just have to find out what 7pm GMT+2 is in England's GMT +-0.

Zero: We want to keep the classes as close to the "standard" DnD ones as possible, but I will go take a look at the Adept and let you know. Afro, thats 5pm for you.
oh that's fine by me ^^

TBH, the Adept doesn't even come close to the power level of the Wizard + Sorcerer, though I will be strong enough to play that position. I will need to access the dragon books though for the Metabreath stuff and I would like to be able to apply the dragonborn web template (no biggie if you say no): https://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/iw/20060105b&page=1 . I hope that won't be an issue. Lastly, are we rolling for stats, or will we be able to use a point buy? I am not a big fan of rolling because getting 3's or 4's always ends up being a bit of a bummer. Other than that, I am totally cool with everything else relating to the game!

I hope that won't be an issue. The GM has stated that pretty much all the supplements outside of the Adventures is fair game, so it shouldn't be a problem. I just want to assess the Adept before I make a decision though. Will be looking at that tonight and probably getting back to you tomorrow morning. Edit: I created my character today and rolled for stats - don't worry, you can't possibly roll worse than me (Well, I suppose it's not impossible, but it's damn unlikely). The GM might be receptive to point buy, I don't know. Truth be told, I'm not that happy with my rolls, as I've said, so I will discuss the possibility with him and let you know. Is a stat roll a dealbreaker for you though? I will look at the template along with the Adept and let you know tomorrow morning. Edit 2 : It won't let me make spaces between the paragraphs now, I hope it's still readable.
Thanks, I made a couple edits, please make sure you take a look at them.
Just a quick Checkup, i guess the 2 Slots are allready filled by Scotsman and Zerocaliber?
Aaron S. said: Just a quick Checkup, i guess the 2 Slots are allready filled by Scotsman and Zerocaliber? Haven't made final decisions yet, you can still apply. Would like to finalize the group tomorrow morning and get folks in touch with the GM to start rolling their characters.
I think it's fine. Considering im a total noob, i would porbably just slow everything down with questsions and the like. Wish you guys a lot of fun anyway. ;)
Visum, the rolling isn't a deal breaker, but I definitely prefer the point buy. It is just a lot more fair and consistent. Its never fun having to completely abandon your character concept because you have to work with a 4-6 in a slot. A single bad one can start dictating how your entire character's roleplay goes. Plus, then you know everyone will be at an even power level, instead of the one guy who got lucky with two 18's who is steamrolling everything that the rest can barely kill. Ill even take the nerfed 28 point buy if that is acceptable.
Any Room for a Skill Monkey ?
Aaron: Quite a few people are new. I myself, being the most experiences of the group (so far at least), will also have to learn as we play the first couple of sessions, because the system I have so much experience with is 2nd Edition. Plus, that was 10+ years ago. I want as many folks to apply as possible, so we have a backlog we can draw from if someone proves consistently unreliable. In the end, the choice is yours of course. Zero: I tend to agree. I will discuss it with the GM and try to persuade him. Do try and keep an open mind about the result though. I say that to keep anyone else that might be reading this' expectations reasonable, as it seems that that is already the case for you.
Hey guys, I'm the GM who will be running this Saturday. It will be starting at 5:00PM - GMT, so 7:00PM for those of you in GMT+2 I am open to do character creation any time today, since I am completely free, and I want you all to be ready for Saturday. Anyone who cannot make it will be allowed to join during later sessions. Zero, I allowed a 28 point buy system, which is average I believe. I am new to 3.5e, but I believe my experience at DMing will pull us through until we get to the point where you are tearing down the pillars of evil and destroying corruption where it stands. This campaign will be a long one hopefully, and the time may change at points, but I hope that together we can forge a game that will withstand the test of time and we call come out as gods.

Yeah, 28 is average. Most DMs do 30, 32, but that is perfectly fine by me. Visum already gave me most of the details. I am looking forward to playing with everyone and I will have my character ready by Saturday. I am pretty experienced with 3.5e rules, so I will be able to help you guys out with any confusion during playing. Starting level is 1 correct? Are we using the average class starting gold then and max health first level?
Need a couple more players?
