[Shadowrun] Rotating GM game

Lets discuss the possibility of creating a rotating GM Shadowrun game where players take turns running a run, then jump back in as a player. This idea was proposed by Eric W. here: https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/268626/ok-this-is-what-we-need#post-275632 First lets see how many people we have that are interested. Please post if you are interested in playing, and taking turns running. Include in you're post if you are comfortable running now or need to get a little play experience first. If we are playing 5th edition, I would probably need to get a run or 2 under my belt before GMing, I don't even have the book yet (but I can get it). If we went with 4th ed. I could potentially Gm the first Run. Interested?
What days/times? I'm in EST; and can do evenings & some weekend times.
I'm EST too, for a consistent game it wild probably need to be Tuesday - Thursday between 6 and 11 sometime, but I'd be ok with a more "plan as we go" weekend game. I was figuring we'd see what sort of interest there is then try and work something out. If we had a largish group players could miss a run here and there and it wouldn't matter. This all depends on having a number of people willing to GM.
If it Saturday or Sunday, in a good GMT+1 time then i happy to play, But i only got the 5th edition and yet to play a game with that. It maybe a good idea to do a one shot game where we just do some training on how to play it. I can not be a GM as i only played 2 games of D&D and that went badly for me in the end but I try and help with what i can,if there anything i can do.
Posted before in the other thread. Pretty new to Shadowrun in general but willing to try GMing if needed and to help fill in the rotation. I'd prefer 5th edition. Also in EST and the best time for me would be during Saturday/Sunday.
I too would be interested. I have 5th edition, which I'm itching to try, but more experience in 4th edition. I am just fine as a GM if you don't mind darker stories. My schedule is a touch restrictive though. I'm MST, and available evenings (from about 6:30 pm onward), except for Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, but i'm available during days on the weekends. However I also live with (and care for) my elderly grandfather, whose needs come first, so i may rarely, and with very short notice, need to miss a game. Also, and I can't stress this enough: I have awful dice luck in all systems, at all times, so if you are worried about the game having "that guy" who can't make a roll to save his life, and can fumble a check that had a +20 modifier, i may not be a fit.
I am potentially interested if we can work out a time that works for me. I would prefer 5e but I am new to that and roll 20 so if I am going to take a turn GMing i would prefer to keep things simple until everyone gets the hang of things. I work nights for the next 2 months so after 9pm EST would work best during the week and anytime Saturday. Sunday is bad. If my odd schedule doesn't work for you then best of luck and maybe we can try again in the future.
+1 for Sunday.
+2 for Sunday, or even Saturday. I would love to play and switch off with GMing. I have experience with SR 4ea,both with playing and being a GM. I want to cast my vote towards 4ea only because there is already a ton of source books for it. SR 5e is looking pretty cool. I already own the pdf for sr 5e. I do see a lot for people interested so maybe multiply groups. EDIT: I would rather play SR5e instead of 4a
I vote for 5th; and we can adapt the 4th ed. supplementals (other than the Matrix book) where we can. Either way is wiz for me.
I'm possibly interested. I only have 4th edition though. I'd be willing to GM after getting a few play sessions under my belt, as I've only ever been involved in one very short lived game.
Interested in running 4th ed.
5th edition! New material demands to be played. I can match your times Evan P. On Wednesday. I'll even GM the first run. Let me know if you're interested & we'll start recruiting players based on a time that's good you for on Weekly Wednesday. The only times I would be unavailable is from about 1 AM-11 AM your time. Skype: william.r232
Got a bit of experience myself. Willing to run 4th ed, as it might be a while before I can get the 5e books. Financial situations and all that.
Sorry for joining in late but I do have a character creator program that will let you make your characters for 4th ed a bit more simply. http://www.chummergen.com/ I'd love to get into a game of this, haven't had a chance to play yet, but this is my only way to play any tabletop rpgs. (currently live in an alaskan village) I have the sourcebooks for this as well as a pdf.
available 24/7 if that helps anyone at all. skype: mr.nobody45
it does look like it be a good idea if we cut in to two groups when we start this, for people who want to play 4e and 5e.
Ok, Lets try to get some standard info from everyone. I've started a spreadsheet with my I info as an example. You should be able to add your info at this link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AhgJToGrZYVddGFKamVMRXZXQnlCQlhBM1htanFicHc&usp=sharing Remember that you don't necessarily need to be an experienced gm, if your not but are willing to try/learn you can say so and those of us with more experience can start out and you can jump in later. Unless we have a few people that actually prefer to gm, priority will probably go to those willing to take a turn. As far as assets go for Roll20, I personally am not to concerned with having beautiful color maps and such. I will probably just make some line drawing floor plans and import those. If I'm over thinking this and someone wants to just jump in and start a game feel free, I just want to make sure we really have enough willing gms with schedules that fit. Let me know if the speed sheet doesn't work, also, feel free to add additional columns if there is other info you think would be helpful.
Added my info to the sheet. Also, I agree with Hidden Boss about possibly splitting this into two games.
Would be interested as well. Putting my info in now

The creator of Chummer said over on Dumpshock that he does not plan to do a 5th Ed. verson; but others on the board are picking up the project. Steve S. said: I also use Chummer, and it's a lifesaver. now i just have to be patient and hope the guy who wrote it will write a 5th edition one.
Added in info.
May as well post the link to my guy here to get some feedback on him. It my 1st time making a Bg for RP so let me know how it is as well how good or bad my guy in skills and that.
I input my info but I know I have a weird schedule ATM but I put it there just in case. If I don't get in on this though I will be starting my own campaign sometime in the future. I will create a forum post once I am ready, for now I am still 1) Learning the interface and 2) Waiting to hear about the schedule for this project for work so I can pick a time. Once those two issues are ironed out I will post something, unless of course I get in on this.
I'm all for a 5th edition game. I can make any monday-thursday Evening EST game, probably no Friday/Saturday events.
I'd be interested. For GMing, I'm not really sure however, I feel like I'm a little too inexperienced with the setting still, but after a few games I might give it a shot
Added my info, up for 5th Ed for Sundays.

So anyone got any dea for when the 4e game can start?
Looks like maybe 5 people for a 4e game on the weekend, I would probably vote Saturday. probably would be better with at least one more so it could operate a man down. I see maybe 5 for a weekend 5th ed game as well. So I guess we will see if maybe a few more stumble in in the next few days, I imagine at least Eric W. (who proposed this idea originally will want to join one of the games. If anyone wants to step forward and be the first to run something, feel free to propose a time (based on the spreadsheet), and start something up. If we could all agree on one system we might actually have a large sustainable group where people could miss games or even move between two different games as schedules allowed, but failing that, it looks like there is the potential for a couple of small groups, I am just hoping we can pick up another player or 2 with schedules that fit for each edition. on a side note, I started looking at making a 5th ed character today and man do I feel constrained by the priority system! I don't remember it bothering me this much in 3rd. This is another reason I lean towards sticking with 4th at least until a Build Point or Karmagen comes out. Though admittedly other than that I 5th looked pretty good.
If I could suggest, those who are willing to GM a game off the bat, please post when you can do it and what edition, so the players can send you info and y'all can work out a good time. As for myself, 4e or 5e is good.
I am in for 4e!
Alright, let us see what we have then. Thu (of w/e time). 4e. Don't expect solid combat missions, characters should have something to do outside of shooting things. More info if we can get people together. Just send me a private message about available times on thu if you think you can make it happen. (from the spreadsheet, it looks like there are a fair bit with something workable.)

To help save people time working out the time zones, i made a makeshift time converter, i think it working, but I need someone to take a look if i got the time zones right. it on page 2 of the spreadsheet under "time worker (WIP)". If the Guys running the 5E games could do a 18:00 GMT start time on Sat or Sun as that best time for me to join in with you guys if my time clock is right.(i know it maybe a bit of a pain but i be thankful)
The converter seems to work as far as I can tell. Thanks.

Hey guys, I have a thread to start a Wendesday game for those of us who are busy on the weekends. We already have two runners/two GMs. Check it out and join up if interested. https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/278616/interest-check-weekday-shadowrun-5e-w-slash-rotating-gm/#post-279069 Thanks
I started up a thread for those who want a weekend game. Manly just a tread to further developing a weekend game. https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/279957/place-holder-for-weekend-rotation-gm-sr-5th/#post-279957

um, I can't get to your post Terry. I would be down for a Sunday morning game, or a weekday evening (8pm or later mst) game. Anyone interested in that?
Sorry I am still very new to roll20. I think i may have fixed it.
Just to let all of you guys know, some friends of mine who have been running a Pathfinder campaign recently mentioned getting a 5E Shadowrun campaign going. Since I was brand new to Tabletop rpg's, I jumped in with abandon, and now... I'm about 50-60% done building a whole Seattle Metroplex persistent world... Never GMed before of course, but I love building stories in my head, and this just sounds like a blast. If your interested in it, my schedule is completely open at the moment. the first session is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, August 24th at around 1pm PST. I'm pacific by the way, live in seattle, so that'll add some flavor to this. https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/7679/shadowrun-5e

still not working Terry, did you delete the thread or something?
Maybe this will work. https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/281502/sr-5e-rotating-gm-weekends-time-undecided/#post-281502 all those interested in a weekend game.
Hey guys I'm back! I'd love to throw my hat in the ring on this but as my initial posts have stated I am completely new to Tabletop gaming and would like to get some experience playing the game and if someone is willing to show me the ropes I will gladly GM for this project. I'm currently living in Germany so anything based around CET would work for me but weekend games would perhaps allow for me to play with both EST and PST players as well.

My schedule is open this month, but I will only be able to play Fri, Sat and Sunday starting next month. I have experience with 4A and don't want to switch to five until they have some of the splat books out for it. As a GM, Chummer is one of the best tools out there. I really like my players to use the Karma build, so I can tune the NPC's to be at the right challenge level. I would be interested in running a campaign beginning with emergence (if no one has read it) setting it somewhere in CalFree. Right about the same time in California, some major events went down that were only slightly glossed over in the 6th World Almanac. I would really like to explore the fall of the California Protectorate and eventually catching up to 5e. Also, I have all of the 4a books, however I have intentionally not read most of the campaign/adventure books. Anyone else who plans on running SR4 might think about laying claim to specific campaign material that they plan on using, so the other GM's do not inadvertently read that material in planning for their own adventures.

Has anyone given any thought to which optional rules/house rules will be used? In light of 5e, I would propose using the alternate matrix attribute system in Unwired on page 39 at a minimum.
This sounds really interesting and I can play any day. I don't have any experience with SR and have only sat in on one game and it seemed really cool. If you're willing to accept a newbie to SR I'd be fine learning either 4th or 5th, whichever the group decides. I do have tabletop experience with other systems so hopefully I would be able to pick up the rules fairly quickly. I wouldn't be comfortable being a DM without having a few games of experience but once I get a grasp of the system it seems really interesting and I would like to try being a DM if you all would be alright with a new guy. Also my time zone is CDT currently UTC/GMT -5
I would be interested playing and perhaps running, I am in GMT however, so I would not be able to play with those who are particularly far ahead of or behind me. I have a basic understanding of most of 5e, so I would prefer playing that. I am in UTC+0
