RETURN TO FORUM NAVIGATION MISSION LISTINGS Missions are found on the hex threads for any hex once they are discovered Links from the hex thread take you to the Mission Thread for a mission.  This is where you will post in character The hexes can be found using the World Map Navigation in  1.World .  MISSION TYPES 1. Players who want a less time commitment to the game might choose these missions. Reward 2MP. Length 9-12 days RL posting 4. Challenge Mission - A challenge mission will have a harder difficulty based on the Level. Treasure Rewards will be greater. There is a real threat of death during these missions. Do not take these if you are afraid to die . These come in Standard & Daily Lengths Players who want a greater challenge with greater reward should choose these. Reward 3MP. Length Standard or Daily 5. Kingdom Mission - A mission that is linked to a Kingdom Reward or Kingdom progress. These missions offer extra reward in KP. Players who want to contribute to the development of the kingdom story. Rewards 1KP +2MP. Length Standard or Daily Live Missions - Missions that take place in real time on the VTT.  Announced in the  Live Mission Thread MISSION LEVEL Mission will be standard difficultly if attempted by 4 players of this average level.  Most missions will allow up to 6 players to participate.  Each character must be within 2 levels of the mission level. MISSION SIGN UPS You will sign up for missions on the VTT in the journals There are 3 types of missions in the journal:  Upcoming, Current and Previous You should check Upcoming Missions for missions that take place in a future week and Current missions for the current week. DO NOT post your interest in a mission on the forum but use the SLOTS in the journal handout for the mission to sign up. Missions will take place in a Mission Box on the VTT.  This is where your token will be found for your mission.   The number of the mission box is listed in front of the current mission name in the journal in parentheses. MISSION TRAVEL Travel to a mission is determined by the number of hexes away and the type of hexes you are traveling through. The mission itself will count as 1 day of downtime which should be recorded in your log (as probably the first entry of the week) You are probably traveling as a party but to simplify travel you can post use your travel speed to determine your personal time. Travel through hexes can be found in the  Campaign Systems Exploration page of Ultimate Campaign You can also do FIELD CRAFTING (4 hours of crafting per day or basically 1, 8 hour day of crafting for every 2 days of travel/exploration) or other things you could do while away from a town. You may purchase items before going on a mission from any of the stores in town.   This does NOT include items created during the current week.   Items created DURING the week are AVAILABLE when you return from mission Items you FIND during a mission may be traded and sold DURING the current week of that mission REMEMBER - you may only sell items up to the value allowed by the town size unless you sell to a player. TIME SLOTS  You can post only 1 time per slot when on a mission in COMBAT but you may post as much conversation out of combat in character as you like but the timeline will be moved along by the GM postings only and when combat starts you get 1 post per timeslot unless it is communication. TIMESLOTS Time Slot 1 = 1am - 9am EST (6AM - 2PM GMT) Time Slot 2 = 9am - 5pm EST (THIS IS 2PM - 10PM GMT) Time Slot 3 = 5pm - 1am EST (10PM - 6AM GMT) If you are going to be unable to attend a time slot you may place a CONTINGENCY This may or may not happen depending on how thing go You should post this as CONTINGENCY and then change this post if you return and it did not go off Please try to limit the CONTINGENCIES to no more than 1 slot and no more than once/day //Note - Live Missions Do Not Use Time Slots COMBAT IN THE VTT Using the VTT for combat is a little different since we are posting asynchronously (whenever people are able)  For this reason some of the tactical things are going to be a little different or need special attention. All rolls of dice need to rolled on the VTT using your character sheet or should be announced before the roll if using a macro. COLOR CODES Color codes are found in the journal mission section and should be used to tag tokens to identify effects on that token. If you place an effect on a creature and that effect is not listed under color codes simply add it. Ex.  A token might be marked green if they gain a disease or the possibility of a disease and a Token might be marked red if they ready an attack to remind me to check for that action in the posting. PERCEPTION Roll your perception .. See which creatures you are able to notice Obviously you can only see creatures where you have line of sight and make the perception roll The target perception roll is found in the journal entry for the creature which you should see in the Bestiary It is up to YOU (NOT ME) to determine what you see. KNOWLEDGE You will have more out of character knowledge than you have in character knowledge If you see a creature you can make the appropriate knowledge roll to see what you know about it This is also listed in the journal with thresholds of information. MOVE Move your token up to your move on the map ATTACK Roll your attack and check your attack against the creatures defenses Use the journal to determine if you hit the AC or not. POSTING Look at what happened during your turn .. describe it . .and post it here . .you get one post per time slot which is normally a round of combat. Sometimes posts will be longer if they involve travel or out of combat situations. You should try to post in character as much as possible. You may list rolls below your post so they do not clutter up the story. See the example mission post in  5.missions Once you complete your turn on the VTT you should post in character what happened.  Your post should have the following parts TOP  In Character Story Post BOTTOM  OOC posting to show information relevant to the post including readied actions

SPECIAL TACTICS These are listed in the Post below Initiative - In our system initiative is used to determine the amount of stuff you can do on your first FULL round of combat Attack of Opportunity - Attacks of opportunity require special care because the GM is most likely not there when you take your turn Readied Action - Readied actions need to be seen in order for the GM to know they are going to go off in certain conditions. INITIATIVE Roll Initiative for ROUND 1 of combat ONLY 5 or Less = Move Action 5-14 = Standard Action 15 + = Full Round Action PLAYER ATTACK OF OPPORTUNITY A player should post an attack of opportunity in their post when they roll initiative if they choose to do so The player will be given a yellow marker if their AOO was used to indicate they should add a new one in their next post. The GM will apply the AOO result when moving and attacking with monster tokens. Should your character be able to take several AOO attacks you should list several of these in your post If an AOO is replaced because it was used the player should remove the yellow color code from their token. MONSTER ATTACK OF OPPORTUNITY Monsters will take attacks of opportunity that may have been provoked on the players turn. A yellow marker should be placed on the monster to let other players know an AOO was used by it. The GM will remove the yellow marker on their turn. READIED ACTION Go ahead and set the conditions for your readied action clearly. Mark your token with the readied action color (RED DOT) to alert players a readied action is available Roll your readied action and post the readied information at the bottom of your post in the OOC section. A GM will apply the readied action when the condition is met (or a player can if the player triggers the readied action) This will be added in the story of the GM post or the post of the player who triggered the readied action. The color mark will be removed when the readied action is resolved
