RETURN TO FORUM NAVIGATION You must eat and drink each day, see below, but after that your time is yours. You may spend some of it going on an adventure in the form of a Mission (which generally take 1 day plus travel). The other days are left for you to decide. Will you just while away your time at the tavern? Or will you craft something superb? Maybe you are more building oriented and will spend your time constructing. Or maybe you find town too stuffy and wish to explore the far reaches of this new world. Each of these options will be described in more detail below. MEALS AND DRINKS The full rules for this can be found here: Eating and Drinking In Town : You need 1 meal each day, the other is provided. And water is free so unless you want something else, you are good. Out of Town: While on the road, you are not so fortunate. You must either bring with you or forage for 2 meals and 3 drinks each day (6 if in a desert hex). Purpose: This is a good chance for crafting and role playing the Inn and other type locations. If you find tracking this is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE to you then simply IGNORE SPECIFICS and Pay 10 gold a week and consider it done. Consequences: If you go more than 3 days without food or 1 day with out water, you start to starve/dehydrate. See the full rules for details. Travel - Travel Across A Hex takes time which is determined by the hex type and the speed of your party. Those times can be found here: Quick Look Up Rest Rest is needed to recover hitpoints and not become fatigued or exhausted. More is posted about resting on the Rest Post (linked). Adventure - this is NOT done in downtime .. but you should count the travel for a mission and mission itself as 1 day unless otherwise noted SCOUTING & EXPLORATION - Are Explained In The Exploration Guide NPCS NPC cannot do missions, quests, explore and/or scout. NPC can generate goods, craft on their own, assist you or another NPC in crafting, generate gold, and/or build things. NPC can create capitol but must do what it is skilled at or has to use unskilled rules Crafting The full crafting guide for the Island of Iss can be found here: Crafting Guide CAPITOL - How to gain the materials needed to build Capitol is a term that describes general stacks of goods, labor, magic and influence that are used in downtime. This is explained in the Ultimate Campaign Downtime Activities section of Ultimate Campaign. Buildings and rooms are going to need capitol to create. Your capitol spending per day is determined by the KP table for the campaign. BUILDING - How to use the capitol you have gained Here is a link to the rooms that you can build: Rooms Downtime can be used to create rooms and building equity in your building pool.Your pool will then be used to create rooms and buildings during the building phase. During downtime you should simply spend the capitol you have in storage and convert it to building pool equity. This takes downtime. When you get to the building phase you will use this pool to create rooms and finish buildings. You will earn 1MP per lot a building takes up upon COMPLETION of the building. . 0 MP is earned for duplicate buildings. ROOMS are NOT Buildings! If you are starting a new building you should also LIST the rooms that are going to be in that entire building on the BUILDINGS PAGE so they will be listed. You can also coordinate building with other players at the We Built This City thread. BUILDINGS PAGE You must FIRST generate or buy capitol into your inventory .. Then you must CONVERT that capitol into usable assets in your building pool. You must spend capitol to build buildings based on your KP limits for building If you purchase capitol you are still held to the same limits per day You may not purchase a building or room outright but must spend capitol You are welcome to buy capitol at the purchase cost. Buildings DO NOT have a time they take. Once enough Capitol is converted over to the building pool and spent they are built. EXAMPLE Prytania wants to build a room that costs 12 goods and 8 labor She currently has 4 goods in her building pool and 4 labor She needs 8 goods and 4 lumber to complete the building She currently has 4 goods and 2 labor in her inventory that have NOT been converted over to the building pool her KP limit is 4/day PHASE 3 - Downtime posts are in italics She starts by generating labor and goods. She posts in her downtime log 1 day - Generating Capitol (labor) @4/day = 4 labor 2 days - Generating Capitol (goods) @ 3/ day = 6 goods She NOW has 10 goods and 6 labor in her inventory Next she wants to convert this from her inventory to her building pool 4 days converting capitol to the pool @ 4/day = 16 converted (10 goods, 6 labor) *The other 4 goods and 2 labor were already in her inventory* She NOW has 14 goods and 10 labor in her building pool. * She had 4 and 4 already that she added 10 and 6 to* PHASE 4 She goes to the BUILDINGS PAGE and lists that she has built her room. It cost her 12 goods and 8 labor. She keeps 2 goods and 2 labor in her building pool for a future project. This room DOES NOT finish a building so it DOES NOT award MP.
