Is it possible for multiple people to have access and edit a game and it's maps?

I'm wondering if this is possible because I'd like to try and make a tabletop strategy game with a group so we could bounce ideas off each other and try to make the game as fun and fair as possible. So like each person could make a different map for the game so that if someone were to invade a castle with one group of soldiers while protecting their own gate, there would be an inside for the castle being stormed while the game is also being played on the world map.

I apologize if this is a little confusing or a bit much. I just thought it'd be fun and interesting to do.

Yes. Promote them to a GM.

It is fine qwerty. What you will have to do is after inviting the people you want to brain storm with and they accept, you will have to go to the games detail page and right click on their avatar image then chose to upgrade them to Co-GMs. This will give them access to almost everything inside the game but not everything outside the game (You are the only one that can change the board settings and such). While inside everyone that is a GM can create pages, sheets, and all the other stuff.

We have a help wiki here but as I'm not sure where you should start reading so the link goes to the main page. I would recommend skimming the sections that catch your attention and keep asking questions.

Okay. Thanks for the help, links, and quick replies. Now I just need to brush up on building a game, and find others who would be interested in co-building a game.

So I looked through this ----> Roll20 Wiki: Game Management - Players and please correct me if I'm wrong in my understanding of this.

Promoted GMs (co-GMs) can create new maps, alter tokens, create new tokens, add images, and do almost anything map/game related that a Creator/GM can do excluding view someone else's image library, delete the game, change game settings (public or not, description, things that don't directly affect the game). They can however use any and all images that I put into the game and any other elements that I put into effect and made usable. Right?

Yes they can. While they can not use your asset library (It is linked directly with your account) they can use anything that is placed in the map area. what this means is that if you place a token on a map page, the other GM's can copy/paste it onto other map pages and such. It does not get placed into their asset library though, it just lets them move it about and make copies of it onto other map pages.

Okay. Cool. :) So I could make a blank map area for us to slap down tokens and other things the others don't have so that we can all use them? So, I could put down a token I made in paint or something, someone else could put down a tree image, and another person could slap down a dragon, and we could all just copy/paste them where needed and delete whatever isn't used?

You got it.

Cool. Thanks. Now all I have to do is find people who are even willing to try and make a game together...

just give it time. start working on it and make an LFG listing for it. You already posted in the LFG forum.

I know. I'm tinkering around with the map maker and trying to figure out what I'm able to do with it. I've always enjoyed learning new things. And I've always held firm to the belief that if something is hard, it'll be that much more enjoyable when you succeed at it.

have you tried the interactive tutorial? If you hover over the games at the top of the screen, there will be a drop down menu and on the bottom of it is the tutorial button. It will walk you through the basic functions of the roll20 gameboard.

I haven't, but I probably will in a couple days. I tend to learn/pick things up from tutorials better if I've tinkered a little bit before hand.
