SETUP: After being given one of Agela's handy Adventuring Packs with the emblem of Iomedae embroidered on the side, the group meets out front of the Silver Harp to begin their survey.  They will be gathering detailed information to bring back to town about all the stuff around the town.  The outpost location has been marked on a crude empty map and divided into 8 sections corresponding to the coordinates on a compass rose.  The party discusses how to begin and in which direction and provides details to their strengths and weaknesses for the adventure ahead.  
Looking at the map, "Lets go counter clockwise starting from the south east."
Seeing as there were no objections, The group was eager to get started.  They headed to sector 4 on the map.   For each sector I want a survival, knowledge geography and a perception check .. in each post to follow I will tell you what you find .. if anything.   // OOC Remember we can post as often as we move this along (minimum of once per slot) during non combat.

This section was probably a good one to start with .. The main road headed through this sector with shrubland lining the roads but fertile grasses to the southwest.  These areas would be ideal for farming.  You jot down what you have learned on the blank map providing as much detail as you can.  
The weather seems to be holding up so far.  Fizziwik says to Viggo as the group turns towards sector 5.   I don't expect we'll encounter anything too troubling, Fizziwik looks up at the clouds,  weather wise at least.  Not like this one time I went with Poppy to gather supplies for the village we were staying at, they had a witch curse their crops and nothing had grown for a couple of years and they needed some food so we went to the next town over to get them some and it rained on us the whole way there and the whole way back. // Knowledge Geography:  I critted for a 10 to assist, Perception: 19, Survival: 18
Prytania is usually a competent girl, she does what she has to, or at least she tries... Unless someone distracts her. Unluckily, Fizzwik doesn't seem to run out of stories, and he has an enjoyable tone of voice on top of it! (OOC Survival 4, Kowdlege 2, perception 9)

Zordlon may not be a survival expert or some sort of gee-all-oh-gist but he has the sight of an eagle. Or at least something close to it. (Perception 28 geography 14 max 10 survival 10)

Exploring the next sector the party comes across a patch of beautiful wild flowers .. The red flowers dominate a great patch in very fertile fields.   You may avoid the patch of flowers or you may investigate them further. Knowledge Nature & Fortitude Saves if you you investigate the flowers further

"Now what are these..." Seeing the flowers Zordlon takes a look at the flowers to try and determine what they are. (2 nat 10s for a 11 fort 14 know nature can't wait to see how this goes wrong) [If I can I'll do what Prytania says]

Zordlon rounds up a few of the flowers .. before immediately puking all over them and then on the ground and then all over himself .. He is quite a mess and heads back to Prytania trying to hold in the vomit .. The flowers droop with the acidic stench of bile and droop from Zordlon's breakfast all over them.   You have not identified them and Zordlon is too queasy to attempt checking them out again .. He thinks about it .. looks at them .. then almost vomits once again.    If someone else wants to attempt that is fine .. otherwise you can roll and proceed to sector 6
"Does anyone here knowledgeable in nature? If not I recommend we examine these flowers some other time when someone who is comes along, it will do us no good to all get sick." OOC: Don't think anyone here has Knowledge Nature so I recommend we move on to the next secctor.

     Ren walks up to Zordlon as they get ready to move on. "Let me take a look to make sure you're not going to die while we explore the next area. You'd better hope those things don't make great poison." Ren gives the elf a quick check up. Sorry I havent been posting, I just got back from a job interview) Azariah sticks alongside the party, staying ready for any battles that may occur, he was not the most useful in this situation, with simple scouting, but he intended to tag along all the same, in case they came across any trouble.
The party continued to scout the area to the SW of the town .. Zordlon eventually cured of his nausia .. the landscape changed from fertile land to stony ground.  large rock formations rose out of the land here .. The party stopped, sensing a presence in the area ahead.  They could tell that there was movement ahead in the rock formation ... Checking the tracks around Ren pointed out animal tracks .. large tracks .. boar .. no .. Dire Boar! Slot 3      Quickly looking closer at the movement ahead as well as the tracks Ren was able to decipher that this was a dire boar. Ren tries to look closer, see where exactly this boar is. Looking left and right. At the same time Ren draw's his sword and prepares himself. Boars can be dangerous.      Ren is not able to figure out much about other than that it is a boar and boars are animals among other things.  Actions:  Perception - 20 Initiative - 20 Knowledge Nature - 6 Swift Action - Crane Style Take defensive action Prepared Attack

Zordlon does what he does best..... run behind the nearest most capable people and let them fight his battles. (running behind people so they can defend me and perception 32.nat 20 yo.)
Slot 3 After smelling the party, the boar came rumbling out of the rocky outcropping right towards Prytania, its tusks dug in greatly into her armor .. she was ready to save another but it was her that needed the saving!  The boar did not come close enough for Ren to attack it.   / /scent 30+ // 26 ac for 17 damage .. oof Next Slot 1

Slot 1     Dammit. As Ren and a few other's in the group spotted the boar, the boar also seemed to spot them and immediately took the opportunity to charge at them. Immediately Ren stepped forward and took a defensive stance, however the Boar decided to charge at Prytania who was a little away from him. Dam, I should have been closer! The boar seemed to catch her by surprise, colliding head on. Prytania seemed taken aback my the attack. If nothing else, she was defiantly hurting.      Ren shuffled forward to the other side of the Boar and with a quick flick of his wrist opened a wound on the side of the boar. "Hey, you should be looking at me..." Ren readied his sword up for the Boar as it looked angrier than before. "Don't like having your blood spilled? Why don't you do something about it." Maybe the thing just reacts to noise, whatever the case I need to let Prytania heal herself. Actions: 5ft Shuffle North West Attack - 20 Damage - 7

Slot 1 As the boar approached, Prytania threw her javelin at it, hurting him a bit, but it seemed to anger it more than everything else. The boar charged her, opening a breach in her leg. Limping a bit and with the help of her friends, she tries to get to the back lines. Actions: Readied attack: Roll - 15, 7 damage Action - Withdraw

Slot 1 (8 month old slept in) Rusty moves into an advantageous position. Knowing it could turn and kill him at any moment, he swings Rust in an arc, just barely missing. "Curse these short arms!" Slot 2 After seeing what that thing's tusks were capable of, Prytania didn't want to get close to that thing again. With the wound still on her mind, she raised her second javeling and trhew it, which sank into the pig's skin, piercing one of his lungs. The boar was bleeding by its mouth, trying to breathe, but impressively enough, still willing to fight. Actions: Movement: draw a javelin Standard: Attack - 24 ( Crit , confirmation: 23), 11 damage total
Slot 2      Another Javelin buried itself into the boar. After this one though the boar seemed to stagger a little before balancing again... and it looked pissed. Dam these things, why won't it just go down. Ren stepped forward with his sword down, blade facing up. In one motion Ren pulled his sword upwards, cutting a large opening into the boar. The creature screamed in pain as blood gushed out. Any onlooker could tell it was nearing it's death.  Actions: Attack - 16 (With flanking)  Damage - 11
Slot 2 The ferocious boar continues to hang on to life, ramming its head into Ren but Ren easily steps away, holding its horns in his hands and planting his feet.  The boar is about to collapse .. one more solid hit should do it.   /next Slot 3

i'm 10 minutes away from slot3.... slot 2. Zordlon takes his bow out and hurriedly tries to shoot the boar. He fails. (10 to hit. 14 knowledge nature)
now i can do slot 3 Zordlon yet again tries to shoot the boar and yet again misses. Huh..... is this what they mean when they say history repeats itself? (same roll. except this time i remembered i had a mw bow not a regular one. so an 11 to hit.)
Viggo cuts the boat deep into its chest.  It collapses in a slump on the ground.    Exploring the rocky outcropping the party continues to map out the area.   Among the massive stones are some strange symbols. They appear to be a sort of code rather than a language. Big they are a language they are a very strange one.   Linguistics knowledge planes  knowledge geography knowledge dungeoneering  // back to non combat posts 
Zordlons knows literally nothing about the symbols..... rocks however..... he knows slightly better (linguistics max 10 geo 6 planes max 10 dungeeoniering 13. wasted my great rolls on untrained...)

Unable to identify the symbology, they make a note of it and begin to move further around the hex to the next sector.  Back to non-combat posts and you can make your perceptions, know geo and survival checks like before
