Like hold shift while using the ruler to keep your last line, showing the total distance.
This would be neat for say: rounding corners, around a tree, avoiding traps, hiding from monsters. Very useful indeed!
We had some need for this last game night. Hard to keep track of Pathfinder diagonals if you use the ruler twice. I support this suggestion :)
I'd certainly like it - my group makes all sorts of fancy maneuvers that could stand to be accurately measured.
Agree - would make determining if a player triggers traps or alerts sentries a lot easier if they could map out their path, rather than currently getting them to slowly bounce their token along a square at a time so I can yell "stop" at them when something bad happens :)
As a temporary option until the Ruler tool (maybe) gets support for this, consider having them draw their path with the Freehand tool. Won't calculate their distance for comparison to move speed, but it'll handle traps well.
It should also be pointed out that currently there is a script for the API that does this already if you are a mentor and running the game.
... now I'm tempted to upgrade my account...Alex L. said:
