Card deck editor

For some games that use a deck of cards, the GM may need to be able to add and remove cards from the deck. If my deck has several different cards in it, and I would like to put more copies of a card in it, what are my options? For example, if I want to make a deck that has five cards each of Fire, Air, Water, and Earth, do I have to upload each card five times? If I later want to add another Fire to the deck and remove a Water card, how do I do this?
+1 on this suggestion. Also, some games may need a slightly different deck distribution. For instance, the default "Playing Cards" deck has two Jokers. If the players want to play a game that does not use Joker cards, it would be nice to disable the Jokers for a given session rather than remove them (and their art assets) from the deck or tell players to trash them and redraw. Perhaps the deck configuration screen should have a "Quantity" option on each card to indicate the number of times it appears in a full deck? Setting the "Quantity" of a card to zero would reduce its draw probability to zero. Perhaps, for an "infinite" deck, the "Quantity" value of each card would provide a weight value that would determine how likely it would be to draw that card.
I thought I'd have a play around with decks today to see if I could set up a deck builder type game, like Dominion. Ambitious perhaps, and I did fail. In the process, I has a similar thought. It would have saved a bunch of time if it was possible to associate a count with each card as Will suggested. Also, I really missed: * a tangible "discard" pile as an option for a deck * the ability to position decks on the table * ability to own a deck and add cards to it during the game (easily) * ability to place a card on top of a deck (undraw) Other time savers would include: * ability to reveal some or all cards in my hand to one or more players (without using trade) * ability to discard straight from my hand (without having to place face down on the table) * ability to draw straight from a deck to my hand (without having to drag), particularly in the case where that's the only action I'm allowed to perform (not sure if this one is already possible)
Agree on basically all of these, my "Top wants" on cards: * Ability to "not use" a card in a deck (most games not wanting the 2 jokers in the standard deck being a good example... another good example is card games that use a "sub-set" of the regular deck, like many trick taking games.. Euchre, Pinocle, Sheepshead). Although I like the idea of "quantity" as well given above, then you can set up decks that have multiples of some cards without having to reupload, like "Uno". Based on this feature, would be nice to be able to 'store' card configurations to use later on decks... ie "Poker" deck, "Euchre" deck, etc). * The "discard" pile issue, although, I would just expand the concept out to be any number of custom "Deck piles". Then you could have options to move a card (or group of cards) to a "pile", either all face up or all face down, and either putting them on top or on the bottom of the pile. * Option to "cut" a deck.... Yeah, "digital" shuffling really gets rid of the reason why people cut the deck before a deal (cheating during the shuffle), but, would still be nice for "realism". * "Auditing" on cards... this is a big one. R20 already has excellent "dice" auditing in the chat space, but, right now, people can do things with cards and you can't really tell if any "cheating" is happening. Would be nice to see all events in the chat window on cards (ie, "Deck 1: Shuffled all cards", "Deck 1: Cut deck", "Deck 1: Dealt 5 cards to every player", "Deck 1: Moved all non-dealt cards to 'Draw Pile'", "Joe R: Drew 1 card from top of 'Draw Pile'", "Joe R: Placed '5 of Diamonds' on top of 'Discard Pile'"... and so on).

I would certainly like the ability to quickly add cards from one deck into another. For instance, I have a decent implementation of Cosmic Encounter put together. The Cosmic Deck is different each game, having 10 random flare cards from the Flares Deck added to it each game. Currently, I have to reupload those images from my hard drive each game to add them to the deck, which takes some time and gives me the unfair knowledge of what flares are in there each game. Being able to drag them (or some other implementation) from the Flare Deck to the Cosmic deck would be great. (They have the same backs.) A way to quickly send the cards back to their original decks would be great too. The quantity of identical cards, mentioned above, would also be useful for Cosmic Encounter. Currently, I have copies of the same image of the Negotiate card uploaded 15 times to get the required quantity into the deck. These I would consider medium priority requests from me. [ * After listening to the podcast I now know that you can drag images from the art search into the card editor, though the GUI doesn't make this very clear * ] Further down the line it would be nice to be able to mix cards with different backs together in one deck. I would love to be able to put together a Killer Bunnies game someday (different colored backs in one deck.) It's not a problem with just the first few expansions (where the back color doesn't really matter) but later expansions have cards that deal with the particular back color. Low priority request, but it would certainly be appreciated. I can think of a few other games that would benefit from having one or both of these features implemented somewhere down the line. Still loving Roll20 for Tabletop RPG and Board Gaming for everything that I already can do. Love to see more subscriber support happening so the team can spend more time making Roll20 even better.
I'm currently putting together a Deadlands campaign, and need several standard (+ jokers) decks, the ability to clone an existing deck and assign it to a player would be very useful.

Something i would like to see very soon is the ability to click a card on the table and get a blown-up version on screen, the same as if it's in your hand or on top of the deck.
A deck editor would be great.
I'm putting together Cards Against Humanity using the free PDF from their site... and all I want to be able to do is buy new card decks on the Roll20 market.

Just making sure more people see this. I would be able to test all of my game designs on roll20 if they just added a few features to the deck system. This is really my only need for roll20.
I would definitely like to see the deck system upgraded a bit.

I agree.  A couple new features could make the deck system really strong.
Another thing that would be nice is the ability to draw a particular card from a deck, because if you have some card games to be played there are cards that say you can draw out a specific card from the deck OR discard pile.
+1 i would like to see a deck in which you would be able to upload your own cards. and customize the use of deck.
bump!!!
One way to implement this would be to allow the user to import a .zip file which contains the image files for the deck, all with the desired name as the filename. So I'd put My Own Card.png My Other Card.png My Broken Card.png into a zip file, and the interface would let me import it as a deck. If combined with an ability to specify the number of copies of a card in a deck, that would save me a TON of work importing the custom decks I need for my game. This lets players leverage all of the file manipulation on their local system instead of trying to implement tools into the interface.
Yep. I want to be able to make a Twilight Imperium game. Need a deck editor to do this.

A deck editor would be perfect to use if someone wanted to play monopoly or another board game.
Can you duplicate cards? I have a game that has a 100 cards, but only 14 different ones.

Kristin, are you saying this is an idea that has been talked about to be added in the future?
Coming back to decks, it would be nice for deck-based games like Mage Knight to have Player Decks, in such that a Deck would be owned by a player (perhaps through character sheet functionality?)  which players could take cards that are on the table or from other decks and add them to their own Deck (include options like on top of deck, bottom of deck, or shuffled into deck). Being able to move and place Decks on the board would also be very appreciated. Also, many card games have effects that allow you to search through your Deck for a specific card. A simple Deck Editor where you upload cards and then make decks from the cards you uploaded would make things much streamlined as well, since Mage Knight decks have multiples of the same cards in all the decks. More deck options!! ;)
More deck options would be great. +1 to this.
Adjusting the size of the window the decks appear in would be a great start, even resizing the decks would be nice.  Has someone mentioned exporting a deck to another campaign?  Can you delete Decks?  Allowing a card to be filled out with text instead of importing a picture can be useful for things like D&D 4th ed powers, Arkham Horror or Talisman style encounters or Monopoly Chance cards.   And I just realized, now that I've set up Settlers of Catan, the resource piles have to be upside down so the cards don't appear in peoples hands.  The back of the cards is the same as the front so you know what you picked up but then remain visible to your opponents.  Can we choose to place a deck face up or face down?  If the cards can be intermixed with the other decks (and retain deck label) that would also cover a discard pile.

I'm with this one. Some way to easily create a copy of an existing deck would be extremely helpful. If it could then get assigned to a particular player, even better.
