Courting Danger

Today was gonna be a good day, he just knew it!   Issachar's grin almost split his face in two.  His normally disheveled appearance seemed more...sheveled today.   First to drop by Agela's for some supplies, then the Silver Harp for an ale, then maybe I'll swing by Azariah's... no, it's too soon for that.  Go slow, don't spook her.  Slow and steady wins the race... Issachar was just about healed up from his two encounters with the undead, and was starting to feel that old wanderlust again.   Maybe just a day or three more.  Maybe I should convince Ren to go with me this trip.  I don't like the way he's always at The Lot.   Turning in to Agela's shop, his smile widened more, if that was possible.   I know, I'll pick some of those Black-Eyed Susans I saw just out of town yesterday.  I bet she'll like them! Ho, Agela!  How are you this fine day?  I need an adventuring pack, a tar bomb, and a potion of Cure Light Wounds!  Kizzak and me are about to head to the high country for a couple of weeks and we need to be prepared!   He throws 215 gold pieces on the counter and begins whistling.  Agela brings his things, smiling in response to his huge grin.   I'll see you when I get back!  I'm sure I'll need some patching up. Continuing to whistle, he decides the ale can wait.   Gathering the flowers he picked in a bouquet and tying them with a piece of string, he walks past the inn.   Looks like nobody's home over to The Lot.  Oh well, I'll just tie these here hanging from the porch.   Walking away toward his ranch, he looks back at the Black-eyed Susans swaying in the breeze and goes back to smiling...
// ooc nice!

(EDIT: I changed the post. In retrospect I'm not sure why I thought a carpenter would know about a tapestry. Was tired when writing this.)       Ren stretched his shoulder a bit while walking. I really need to finished getting my home set up... At the moment Ren was on his way to Agela's store. Ren had spent much of his time in the past weeks building for the town, making medicines as well as exploring the nearby areas. But as a result his home was rather... basically non-existent. At the moment he was on his way to sell off a few things he had obtained since getting to this new place.       Recently Ren had gotten a tapestry from an underground dungeon with a few other people here. When they had left that place Ren was in no mood to get things sorted out, but now that he was ready to sell it along with other stuff. As Ren was nearing the Marketplace he noticed Issachar. He seemed to be leaving flowers at Azariah's Lot. He tied them up to the porch before leaving with a smile on his face. As Ren neared him he noticed him.        Flowers?  "Hey Issachar, are the Tieflings home?"
Hey Issachar, are the Tieflings home? Issachar's smile failed faster than you can blink.   Ren...  Why do you want to know, Ren.  Did you see that smile too?   He managed to get it back up before he turned, although not as big as before.   Don't appear to be.  May not be back for a while, best I can see.   So that means you can go away and not come back looking for her again.   I guess I'll be seeing you later, Doc.   Issachar continued on his way, just without a smile.

EDIT: (Sorry, thought it was the other way around :P )       "Hey Issachar, are the Tieflings home?" If they are I may as well ask if Azariah sold his tapestry. If he did than I would know about how much mine is worth...      Issachar's smile faded. "Don't appear to be. May not be back for a while, best I can see. I guess I'll be seeing you later, Doc." Issachar continued on.     "... okay, thanks for letting me know." Is it me or did Issachar stop smiling? Ah whatever . Ren moved on, Azariah wasn't home and it wasn't too importaint.
//OOC The Bold Italics are thoughts. The bold is what was said...
Aliiszha happened by the front door some five minutes later, coming from town with fresh eggs carried under one arm in a basket. Spotting the flowers, the tiefling looked rather confused for a moment, then brought them in with her, looking around her vicinity for who it might've been.
He hadn't slept well during the night.  He kept thinking about Ren and Aliiszha.   They probably had a big ol' time yesterday.  I bet that guy knows how to talk to a woman, with his sophisticated ways and education.   Now, he was trying to make a plan.  The flowers yesterday gave him the idea.   I'll leave little gifts, regular like.  Pique her interest.  Then I'll ask her if I can court her.  It'll work, I'm sure of it.   He searched through all the things he had brought from home and all the things he had won in his travels so far.  He was about to give up and go see Agela when he saw it.  Honey in a little ceramic jar.  It was perfect.   She'll love this.  It's sweet, just like she is. Now, he just had to deliver it without anyone noticing.  To that end, he'd been sitting out back of the Inn whittling for over 2 hours.  Just waiting for everyone to leave The Lot and go do... something.  Anything.  And they just left.  Azariah and Aliiszha were gone, one right after the other.  He thought the apprentice boy was still inside, but sneaking by him shouldn't be a problem (Stealth 21).  I'll just leave this right here on the stoop with one Black-eyed Susan.  Then she'll know it's for her.  I wish I could see her smile when she finds it... I wonder how I'll keep this up when I head back to the woods at the first of the week.  Oh well, I'll think of something.  I always do...  Better go see Prytania about Harold.   Issachar walked away with a spring in his step and a big, wolfish grin on his face.
Khaanyr left the house some hour later, and noticed the gifts lying on the window sill. With a curious frown, the tiefling picked them up, and brought them inside, leaving them on the bedside counter for Aliizha, they definitely knew someone had intentions for her now
It was the next day when Aliiszha decided to do something about this unknown admirer. She knew it could only be one of two people, unless it was some weirdo tiefling fetishist who'd never actually spoken to her. Ren didn't seem likely. he liked her uncle more than he liked her. So that left Issachar. Enquiring to her uncle as to where Issachar lived, she left for his house immediately. Soon arriving and knocking upon the door.

Issachar could see someone had been by his house while he was away.   That flower pot has been moved just a tad, and the string between the porch posts is broken.   The dust on the porch made the footprints impossible to identify.   But they are small, that's for sure. It's good I wasn't home anyway.  I bring nothing but hurt and death to folks around me... Issachar unlocked the latch and went inside.  He went straight to his room, flopped on the bed, and went to sleep without even taking off his boots...
