New Update 10/17

There's a new update out today, here's the highlights: - Polygon tool added under the drawing tools menu. Select it, then click to create points. Either make the last point near the first one or press Esc to finish the polygon. Has the same options as the other shape tool in terms of fill/stroke. - Global Macros. GMs now have access to a new field when editing Macros called "Visible To." You can choose a specific player or "All Players", and the macro will be show up in the list for that player (although they cannot edit it). The player can then use that macro in their macro bar, or even as a nested macro in one of their own macros. Great for setting up macros in advance for your players. - Better tag searching for Your Library. Now you can enter multiple terms in the Art Library search and it will only find assets in your library that match ALL of those terms. You can also use "OR" (all capitalized, e.g. "fire OR water") and it will find all assets that match either of the terms. - Now after you copy a token/map, you can left-click on the tabletop before you press Ctrl+V (or right-click and choose "Paste") and the token/map will be pasted to the place that you clicked instead of the original location of the item. Especially handy for copying/pasting between pages. - Numerous bug fixes including bugs related to adding files from your desktop, fog of war bugs, etc. Supporter Podcast In addition to the tabletop features, we're also rolling out a weekly podcast where we discuss behind-the-scenes aspects of Roll20. For example, in this week's episode we discuss the thinking behind ads and subscriptions, dynamic lighting development, and the next few things that we'll be rolling out. This podcast is only available to Supporters/Mentors. You can access it from your My Account page (<a href="https://app.roll20.net/account/podcast" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/account/podcast</a>) Thanks!
Bump!
All I can say is, Halelujah for the Paste fix.
Any plans of adding hotkeys?
So if I'm understanding this correctly, Global Macros are static across players? I would love to create a macro that's calculated, so when my player when my players forget how a basic attack is calculated for the umpteenth time, they can just click my global "Basic Attack" macro and it takes into account their half-level and STR mod, for example. So the macro would look something like /r 1d20+halflevel+strmod instead of assuming they all have the same numbers there. I realize this would require some rudimentary character sheet feature, but allowing me to set up "Basic Melee Attack" and "Initiative" and similar macros for my players would streamline our games by quite a lot.
Global Macros!!! Hoorah - just what I wanted. Thank you.
Global Macros! And a dedicated line tool! I needed both of these just this past Sunday. I am giddy with delight for future sessions . . .
Awe... was really hoping grouped rolls would make it in this update. :(
Is there a reason that paste works on clicking instead of simply pasting beneath the mouse location always?
- Global Macros. GMs now have access to a new field when editing Macros called "Visible To." The player can then use that macro in their macro bar, or even as a nested macro in one of their own macros. Great for setting up macros in advance for your players. I would like to suggest an option for players to be able to take this shared Macro and copy it for themselves. This way they would be able to edit it. An example would be I setup a set of base macro's for things all characters would need to roll. Then I share these with my players. The players can then hit a *copy* button to make the macro's their own and allow them to do editing on them. Also, has there been any thought into being able to group Macros. IE similar to how the GM has the Page Toolbar have a page toolbar for macros so you could build a melee weapon page, a ranged weapon page etc and then open that page to get to the relevant macro's there? Or another really good use would be for GMs so they could have a Goblin Macro page with all the goblin dice rolls and a skeleton macro page with all the skeleton macro roles (just using those as examples) As it is now, macro's for GMs aren't very useful IMHO.
