Season 2 Episode 12 - "Free Boat Ride for Three" Having abducted Admiral Heran from FriendFell, the team makes quick to the JunkBoat to head for Kashakant-- It takes NO time at all for the Droaam Military to track down the ship -- the Command Ship with a Cruiser intercept the team and grapple-lock the team's underwhelming fishing boat. A boarding party of 20 Scro get mowed down by Feng and Gang-- the team's newly formed Orc Barbarian/Rogue Wrecking Crew-- with tactical support from Maheva hanging back. Most of the Junk hired crew are killed off in the process, but a promising recruit stands out in defending the Admiral from being stolen during the chaos, earning a Favor with the team (new Player to be announced next session) Taking the fight below deck aboard the Droaam Cruiser, the flight crew are overwhelmed immediately. the Command Ship starts to light up the Cruiser with NecroBlasts emanating from he top-mounted Communications Array -- the chaos on the flight deck leaves the team vulnerable to shockwaves of entropic energy as the ship is slowly peeled apart. Some keen observations, and a wicked good Sleight of Hand check grants Gang the Rogue enough know-how to get the ship under control, then into some slick evasive maneuvering. It only takes 4 rounds for the wounded Cruiser to power away from the isolated Command Ship on the way to Kashakant, junk ship still docked in the Cruiser's GrappleRam. Maheva's Sending spell to the Varias Coven warns them the incoming Droaam ship is under their control, and when they arrive, the team is greeted by The Inquisitor-- Varias' Psionic Justicar. It only takes a moment of Inq's palm on Admiral Heron's third eye to see everything the decorated officer has witnessed... and confirms he is under the influence of Bloody Poodle's vampiric charm, and that Bloody Poodle is the engineer of Droaam's current activities at FriendFell. --- The Plot of Bloody Poodle was to fill the tower with necrotic discharge, pouring into the underground river beneath to infect Blood Crescent with tainted water... Obviously the river will have to be un-dammed for this plot to work, but taht is the job of a different team under Poodle's control. Inq instructs the team to neutralize the necrotic discharge while he deals with the saboteurs. He leaves the fate of the Admiral to our heroes, but he is to not be a nuisance any longer. Maheva cleans up the vampiric charm with a cleansing, restoring Admiral Heran to his proper senses. Heran is thankful, embarrassed, and adamant about recovering his charmed officers' mental health. the admiral offers the team a deal... help him restore his officers, remove the vampire infestation from Blood Crescent and help the refugees migrate back to their home, and he'll leave varias' land untouched, and reward the team the Cruiser they have commandeered as well as granting them Favor. Gang is already working on a new name and paint job for his ship-- the team accepts the proposition. Team gains level 10.
