USCMC Recruiting NOW!

The UNITED STATES COLONIAL MARINES needs YOU! "To serve on land, on sea, in air and in space." So, for those of you who might not be aware, there is a set of PDFs for playing a USCMC team (a la Aliens) in Torchbearer.  I'm curious who/how many would be interested.  Right now I'm thinking it would be one mission every now and then, maybe between other campaigns or when we're short large numbers of players on a particular week. Recruits should sound off below: And remember - nuke the site from orbit Update 3 : I'm going to put the game on hold for the moment since even a single person missing a game makes it much harder to run.  If we can get enough collective interest to have a full squad then we can reorganise a time-slot for the game.  Feel free to post if interested. So it's sounding like Friday would be best right now - if we can get confirmation from 3-4 players then it sounds like it's on.  If those who are interested can let me know what (if anything) you've read from Torchbearer and the USCMC hack that'll help me set expectations for the first session. For those of you who know TB, there is one notable difference RE: conflicts. Compromise level in violent conflicts results in a random outcome , not a GM selected one.  Just FYI.

I'm a bit familiar with Torchbearer. With the USCMC hack, I've looked over it once.

I've only watched actual plays and read the rules once I'm afraid. A bit more familiar with BW which I actually played.

The only thing I know about USCMC is the only thing I need to know about USCMC: kill xenos.

That's the sort I time I expected people would want.  I'm not sure if I will be able to have things ready for tomorrow (maybe a short character gen and mission brief session?) but hopefully I should be fully ready next week.  I didn't expect to get four subjects recruits that quickly.

If you can make it to the session tonight we will do a short bit of setting, rules and character generation with those who turn up in order to get a head-start on next week.  If we have more than 4 players I will suggest us also having some civilians along, but I will go over the details tonight. Do we need another player? I can scout for one.

Four or five would be ideal.  I'm not going to stress over it too much, but three is definitely the minimum, and I know Leonard (Mayhem) has opted out and I've had no word from tobia_dh.  It would be a shame if we can't field at least a full team of four marines.

USCMC Official Debrief Post: Chitin Colony, Patrol Mission: Secure sensitive research facility J6 (Aerodyne) Outcome: Success Aerodyne's research facility J6 was re-secured successfully as requested. Unfortunately, the loss of personnel and infrastructure was deemed too expansive to justify the expense for replacement. The company recovered it's records and shut down the project. Details on the material research are restricted. USCM HQ commends the strike team for their initiative and adherence to the spirit of the mission. They are granted extended leave and shall be re-assigned to a new post, quote "better reflecting the particular skills of these soldiers" . All intelligence and recordings from the mission are restricted.

Ah, I misunderstood.  I was more annoyed on the day because I'd organised based around the idea I was pre-booked for that time, but clearly that was just a general miscommunication. Are people free this coming Friday (11th March) or shall we postpone until next week?

Yeah I'm planning on going to a nearby city for shopping and stuff. So I may not be able to make it.
