A note written in a simple hand that speaks of practicality and
precision sits pinned to the board outside the hall of the Blue Sashes. I,
Syvil Dernsson half-elven, seek hearty folk of great courage and skill
for an expedition. As per request of the good Meave of Westgate, wife of Torigg, the huntsman, I have taken it upon myself to lead an expedition
to find said huntsman, who went missing in the Forest of Shadows not
long ago. The promised reward is that of heirlooms from the forest
realms and, of course, heartfelt thanks and good deed done. Expect our
journey to be perilous; your safe return will not be guaranteed. Yet can
we let danger stop our attempt? I have made my decision; what is yours? Yours sincerely, Syvil Dernsson Pinned
underneath is a list where one could write their name, there's also
notes on practicalities. These are inauspiciously numerous. I
have made inquiries of the denizens of Haven and from what I gather
these are the practicalities of our quest - we expect to be in the wilds
for a few days up to a week and as such ample rations and proper gear
for camping is a necessity. Further, the lands to be traveled are mostly
uncharted and as such we cannot be sure what we will find once we enter
the Forest of Shadows. I stress that it is vital for you to consider
the risks; we need not those faint of heart or unwilling to face danger
should it stare us in the eye. Rather I would see arms and armor brought
and worn at all times and order while in hostile territory. Yet such
are not the dangers we face that we can hope to overcome them all with
martial skill alone, see the list below for further information. If we
should find ourselves lacking in expertise the expedition will be
aborted until such time we can find more companions. Finally I wish to
make clear that there will be no disorder within the group. Should a
division of wills arise the right to break ties in votes, and to enforce
order in the party, will be held by me. Should any of these conditions
give you pause, do not hesitate to reach out to me for a conversation. Knowledge in any of the following is favorable: Skill in tracking beasts as well as men Knowledge of the extraordinary and magical Practice in medical care of wounded in the field Familiarity with the Forest of Shadows Martial prowess; battle tested Experience with diplomatic relations and proficiency in various languages Affiliation with any Company of good standing Applications
are open until the 18th of February at which point I will come by to
collect this notice. Please make sure to sign your name, occupation, any
of the requested skills you possess an address for potential interview
and finally any Company affiliation and reference. To those who
sign. Thank you and welcome. There will be a gathering at the tavern by
docks on the eve before we set out. We will hold this meeting as to get
familiar with one another before we leave, before we are to depend on
each other. My funds are limited but I pledge half a silver worth on the
tab for each member who attends. You hold the right to withdraw all
throughout the meeting and forfeit such right at dawn on the day of our
expedition. P.S See the request board for a full transcript of Meave's job offer https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/2929754/jobs-on-... D.S
